I'm in the process of installing an auxiliary fuel tank on the passenger side of my M1028 and am considering a different way of plumbing the two tanks.
While thinking about the valving and switching between the two, I wondered why the two tanks couldn't simply be plumbed together for one...
Thank you for that information. I had been looking at Sherpa for quite some time, and really liked their product. I guess it took your post to flip my switch. I know all about ordering from Australia. I purchased my supercharger from Bullet in Yatala Qld, wherever the hail that is.
I'll...
Guys, if you want an absolutely brand new 27Si alternator, BMP Industrial Supply has 'em for $152.82. I ordered an extra one just to keep on hand, and can attest that it is brand new, not rebuilt.

If I may ask, why are you considering converting to 12-volt only? There are many advantages of retaining the OEM 12/24 volt system. If the system is configured as it was designed, it works wonderfully. If you abandon the OEM design your truck will indeed lose value. In addition, 24-volt...
Hold on there Mr. 2insane. Doing 1 and 2 will indeed strengthen an older block, but not to the strength of a P400. The P400 6.5 diesel was designed and built by GEP for the up-armored HMMWV which weighed over 12,000 pounds and would be operating in desert conditions. Unlike regular engine...
Thanks Barrman for that excellent and very informative reply. I believe I will purchase one of those today. One other question - did you have any fitment issues? Did the oil cooler and transmission cooler lines all attach properly with the correct threading?
Hey Barrman - I know this is an old post, but I am curious. Did this radiator work out for you? If so, do you have an idea how much it lowered operating temperature? Thanks.
Rick my new dash pad is exactly like the OEM pad in every detail. The screws for the bezel cleared in the corners with no problem. You will not be disappointed in the product. You know how picky I am. If the pad I got wasn't perfect I would not have used it. I don't know what else to say...
Rick you are probably right. The transmission-to-block bolts on my fancy new P400 engine are indeed M10-1.5. Maybe the older 6.2's were 3/8-16. Were the earlier 6.2 engines metric or SAE?
Hey Rick - The bolts that attach the transmission to the engine are M10-1.5, not 3/8". A 3/8 bolt will thread into the hole approximately 1/4" before it becomes thread-bound. In my opinion a 1/4" of thread is dangerously close to being too short to support the weight of the transmission when...
