He probably scared the crap out of her when he pulled it with his rig. Most people send a trucking company with rigs smaller than that thing. Here comes M920 with his PO monster rig instead [thumbzup]
Whatever you use make sure it is O-ring friendly as you don't want to have the speedo cable fill up with GL90. One other option you might consider is liquid graphite in a spray can.
The best way for you to know what has happened to any engine in its lifetime is for you to be the only one who has used said engine. 99% of the trucks that we own (by that I mean SS members) have engines/drivetrains that have seen use and/or abuse that we will never be aware of. To try to say...
Soni,
Any way you could post a listing of all the mods you made to the truck? That is one sweet looking rig and I'm (as well as others) are curious as to what all goodies you have in your toy.
There is another video of that same truck before it had the funny sounds coming out of the engine. The driver hit the water at near red line, sucked water in through the air intake (via the massive wave he created) and killed the truck via hydrolock at that speed. There is more wrong with that...
I remember having to do that to one our farm tractors Stumps. Funny thing is this tractor had glow plugs on it and you had to use the glow plugs for 30 seconds no matter -30 or +90. Wouldn't start without using the plugs (could cheat and use its either system but we didn't) but as soon as you...
Basically the way it works is like this:
Until the temp gets below around 30 degrees (I believe this is the temp) the system is disabled automatically. Once the required temp is achieved when you hold the switch (with the engine turning over) on it will activate the canister to fill a...
The really good thing about this truck is that its design is relatively simple and it is stuff that you can still work on without having to hook a PC up to it. Just heavy, but very simple design. Thats why they last so long....the KISS method.
I have the either setup on my truck and have used it 2x. Both times it worked as designed and I had no issues firing my truck up. Probably wasn't needed but I had unknown fuel in the truck and didn't know why it was having slow starts.
If you have the time check around with places that do brakes for big rigs, they may be able to re-line them for you. I know we had some trailer brakes re-lined up here in the TC by doing that and it was pretty cheap.
There are 2 of these valves that Steel is referring to. Both are on the generator side of the engine (passenger side). One is down by the generator and the other is up near the top of the block, both at the radiator end of the engine. Should be a screw valve (or whatever the proper terminology...
