We had a M35A2 with a whistler that had been down for a while due to blowing up a piston liner. After it was fixed when the truck was started it ran fine....until it started blowing all of the excess oil that had been sitting in the bottom of the J-pipe out and all over the shop. Tried to shut...
29 here and I'm trying to stay feeling like it as well. My work industry ages people well beyond their years so I'm using a little OD to try and turn it around.
TM, you beat me to my next post on this. I'm was looking at this post not from being over the GVWR but from another view.
I got thinking about why he would lose control with a 4 axle trailer when he only blew one tire. He had to have had too little weight on the rear axle of the pull truck.
My...
The 3116 was probably the worst engine (reliability) CAT ever put in an over the road vehicle when compared to their other engines. It was advertised as the next great CAT engine and ended up costing CAT a lot of money in warranty fixes/damaged reputation. CAT is now out of the over the road...
So why are you even on here Justal67? You don't own a MV, have flat out told us you have no interest in the MV hobby, come off in on one of your first posts on the site as a jerk which is why everyone in the thread is fired up and then claim all of your/your familys "supposed" service to this...
My truck is about to get another upgrade..... a winch. Been working on a friends Deuce that had no brakes. I've bled the truck 4 times during the process, replaced the master cylinder, adjusted the brakes, aired the tires, greased it all in return for a winch from a truck he is parting. The...
There are quite a few of us on this forum. Like SR said you have Tie6044 in Blaine, I'm in the TC area, Andydieselpower is down by Owatonna, and there are a couple of more guys down south of him. My neighbor bought one because I had one and he had to have his own boy toy. Another buddy has...
The M75 has the same flat-6 air coolded supercharged engine as the M41 Walker Bulldog and M42 Duster, though I have heard the M75 engine is turned down in power a bit. The M113 (later models anyway) should have a Detroit diesel in it (can't remember what the original gas models had).
Thats a good idea Tom. The 414 or 466 are both very good engines. We ran the crap out of ours on the farm (turned up way over factory) and never had an issue with them. Plus no electronics to have to mess with.
There's a reason everyone else uses the Cummins for the repower. The Duramax doesn't hold up the way the Cummins does and you'll have a hard time convincing people otherwise IMHO. Plus the Duramax is an Isuzu engine.......thats just wrong putting a rice burner in a Deuce
I had one do that on mine so I just took the impact and tightened the thimble down real tight again and then the nut came off. I do anti-seize all of my lugs as well, hate fighting the rust like I had to the first time I took the tires off.
