Years ago I got in a P match with Gov. Liq. as a consolation prize I received a large box of new tow bar feet, over the years I have used most of them but this one pair is a little bit of a mystery, I think they may be M880 related but I am just guessing. I am talking about the ones laying on...
I have a military scissor jack, origin unknown, that is very heavy duty and would be real handy, but I don't have the handle and the way it hooks up looks odd. Does anyone have any ideal of how this handle may have looked. If I can get an idea of how it attached to the jack I can fab up...
I am now down three 14R20s on my wrecker, 16R20s seem plentiful not so much for 14s. Any mods need to be made to switch over to 1600s? I can pick them up mounted for $200 or less. The truck moves about 50 miles a year at most on mainly in the pasture.
I received this PTO in trade twenty plus years ago, found it when I was moving storage areas. Other than it being rebuilt at Tead in '92 I don't know much more about it? Any experts available?
I have my 936A2 on display at the local military museum, I crank it monthly and let it run for an hour or so. We received a C130 for display which came with about 2,000 gallons of JP8 we had to dispose of before we mounted it. So the wrecker has full tanks, so no need to fill for months! I...
As I was moving some of my stored treasure I found this test set, it looks to be in really good shape. I have no recollection of it at all, so no Idea where I got it. Anyone ever used one, my electrical skills are on par with my dancing skills- nil!
The attached photos are of a winch I rediscovered while changing storage units. I am not sure where it came from of if it is even military in origin, any help on the ID is appreciated. There are no markings on it that I can see except for the oil level marking script?

I have 37.5 tires on my M1008A1 and the standard tires on my M101A2. The trailer is significantly lower than my CUCV, so I tried the 37s on the trailer. The look is better but the change only raised the trailer by about 3/4 of an inch, I expected more! Any way, they fit fine, no rubbing...
I was gifted seven hundred gallons of JP8, tried to fill up the wrecker and fuel cap drivers side will not budge! When I lean into it the filler neck starts to unscrew from the tank! Any known remedy for this without removing the filler neck, I know I will get crap in the tank during the...
I was dreading replacing the wheel cylinders on my 6217 Maint. truck after hearing all the horror stories about the three hub screws on each wheel! So I did a little research on screw removal, and found a old mechanic video on screw removal. He said use a large flat punch and good sized hammer...
I volunteer at a small air and military museum in Arkansas. Lately we have been getting increasing number of calls to run some of our 1/4 tons in veteran's funerals and local parades. Our insurance guy tells us that $600 a year is the best he can do per vehicle, liability only! I asked about...
I purchased a M198A1 converter dolly a few years ago, very soon afterwards I found a 809 series tractor so the dolly was never used and just set in the cedar woods! I pulled it out last week and what a transformation with just the use of a low power washer!
On September 25-29th Bikes Blues and BBQ will be held in Fayetteville Arkansas, over 350,000 motorcycle enthusiast will attend! The Arkansas Air and Military Museum will be holding an event involving a number of WWII aircraft during the four day event. For viewing and rides a B-29, B-24 and...
Getting the MKT ready for Bikes, Blues and BBQ at the end of this month when 350,000 motor cyclist will pass by the museum. First time I have done anything to it sine a acquired it 4-5 years ago. Other than needing a good dusting everything else seems there including the 2K gen. set! Hooked...
I will be using the MKT at Bikes Blues and BBQ next month for four days, I have access to 16,000-18,000 lbs. of JP8 on site. I know the manual says JP8 is acceptable but has anyone really used it in a MBU?
I purchased a M105A3 cargo trailer a few months ago and have just started looking at it for a pull behind for my M1008. With the 3.5 in lift and running 37 inch tires it sits about level and is a slick trailer! But I would like to pull it behind a 5 ton as well and I don't want to trade out...
If you are not using your local forestry equipment auctions as a source for your green addiction you are missing out! I won a really nice M448 van trailer today for less than the cost of a replacement set of tires for it! I have been watching this trailer for a year or so and last week it...
