After finding the pump would not push fuel I took the pump out of the tank to clean it. After finding that the impeller moved freely but would not turn under power( motor making noise as if working )I believed that the problem was in the sealed motor end and not the pump end. Being a sealed unit...
I found these these in the bowels of Pontiac. The dopers have moved in and are living in the trucks. To support their habits they have stolen all the radiators, copper and a lot of the wiring. Over the winter one of them fell into the burn barrel and suffered third degree burns and died the next...
Has anybody made a 12/24 volt hydraulic dump trailer out of a m101 or m105?
I'm toying with the idea of making one out of a m101. I know that the trailer has dump capabilities to some extent if its loaded right. But making a true one would make loading/dumping a non issue.
While driving on US 23 just south of Harrisville, Michigan on Saturday morning I found this for sale. Nobody was around to talk to. I didn't see any rust through and it looked pretty complete. Note said it comes with a parts veh and extra tracks and trailer. I travel this area lot and have never...
Is there an upgrade to install a parking brake light switch in the M35A2? I noticed that some of the vendors are carrying what they call a parking brake switch, part# 2540-01-259-0283. I'm assuming that its a warning light that the emergency brake is on. Anybody have this on their truck? For...
Yesterday while driving north on US 23, north of Ann Arbor, I saw what I think is a dump sitting in the back of a heavy equipment starage yard. This was just north of N. Territorial rd. The yard was on the east side and boardered the expressway. The truck sat in the back of the yard away from...
When I got my truck a year ago, the right rearmost axle was was leaking. I put in new seals and repacked the bearings. I adjusted the bearings according to the TM, torque inner nut to 50 lbs and back off 1/16 to 1/4 turn. Torque outer 100 to 200ftlbs. After a test drive the hub was hot to the...
I looked at the data plate on what I thought was my m105 trailer. It was marked xm105-e3. It was made by Checker in 1953. Is there a difference between them? Or is this just a earlier version of the m105?
My truck's manifold heater wasn't working so I chased it down to no spark. I bench tested the coil and could only hear some internal buzzing, but no spark. Where can I get another coil?
I would like to use this pump as a spare. It looks close to the original except for the electrical hook-up and the intake screen is finer mesh. Anybody think it would work or know what it originally fit?
Anybody going to the show in Midland? I hope to drive the deuce dump down if I can get I woke up from its winter nap and the maintenance checks done this weekend. If its the same as last year there is also a huge auto show and parts swap meet going on. And for the other half there a huge antique...
Whats the purpose of the bolt under the accelerator pedal? Is it just to stop the soldiers heavy foot or did the linkage get stuck when the gas pedal was floored?
What is the reason for the sewn on leather patch on the lower right side of the winter cover? Is it a wear point, perhaps with the winch? My truck is 150 miles away so I can't compare. And its a non- winch anyways.
Florida Rally
Ok its allmost friday and no pictures yet of the rally. Come-on post some for those of us who couldn't make it this year. I know its early and probably dark down there in warm Florida but take pity on those of us in the bleak and frozen north snow covered end of the country. We...
I've been using this to plow snow for for more than twenty years. It began life as my first ride, a stock 59 Jeep CJ5 with a 4cyl engine. Like all kids I had to hot rod it so I added a 215 c.i. olds aluminum v8. It served well for about the next ten years until the body rusted away. Not being...
After spending all summer getting the dump road worthy it finally paid off. But it wouldn't have happened without the knowledge gleamed from reading this forum on a daily basis. I drove about 170 miles to our summer cabin with only one mishap. The drivers side mirror fell out of the metal...
While my dump doesnt look as good as Jeff's,but I'm slowly putting it right. I finished the doors with new metal in the rusted out spots. Trying to bent the 16ga metal with a cheap bender was not easy. Somebody needs to make patch panels for this area. I'm sure they could sell them as almost...
I took the doors off my duece dump to repair some rust and will need to repaint them. My question is what are the 5 diget color numbers for the paint. The interior was originally 24087 then painted a lighter shade. The outside had at least six coats of paint. Starting with two of 24087 then...
Does anybody know where I can get the door hinge pins, (their bolts really) when using the west coast style mirrors. I tried a couple of vendors but no luck.
