I just rebuilt the engine and put on a NEW banks system. I fired it up the other day with just the down pipe. 3 feet of pipe straight off the turbo. After 2, 10 min breakins I had a little line of oil in the exhaust tube that I could feel just enough to coat your finger.

I just fired up my rebuilt m1009 after many questions posted on this site and some help from cucv electrical! I had a 24v short to ground from the passenger alt. This equaled alot of smoke, burnt fuses, spot welded connections.
Next issue was no glow plugs, replaced relay with a napa st85...
A few posts back I had some wiring issues. I found the 24v short to ground and I burnt 3 fuseable links. Links are fixed and gound solved. So I noticed 2 burnt spots on my glow plug relay. very small and they may not be fromt the original issue as the fuseable link feeding it the 24v is fine...
Just fininshed my second banks turbo install on a m1009. First had dual batteries with 1 alternator no problem. My m1009 has the dual Batteries and Dual alternators. I had to remove the passengerside grounds from the frame near the lower radiator hose. (heat + will rub)
