I am going through some of my surplus. I have a couple of these. What are they called and what do they fit? I would have thought they would have wanted a more durable grill guard, if that is what it is, than one made out of aluminum.
I'm going to need a trailer either hauled or pulled in from Albany, GA. It has the inside tires on it but two of the 4 are flat. PM me if you can do the job with a quote. It's about 525 total miles according to mapquest. I'm planning a trip down that way in a couple weeks. Might be able to...
I want to offer sandblasting service. I am a budding MVer but experienced sandblaster and painter and I'm looking for a way to help support my new addiction...that being army trucks..Let me know before I put it up somewhere and get sent to the corner again...LOL
I'm looking at moving a m127 trailer from Albany, GA to Berea, KY. What is the best way to approach something like this? It only has 4 tires on it and part of those are flat, so it's probably going to have to be hauled in. Is there any help to load in Albany?
What happens when you attempt to pull a 127 flatbed (or any trailer for that matter) with a 818 that has the big tires swapped onto it? Can bigger rubber be put on the trailer to level things out? If I bought an 818 and wanted to put a set of super singles with a set of xzl's which are about 54"...
..I am. I goofed around and let that M270a1 trailer at Ft. Bragg slip through my fingers. It brought less than $1600 without the fees. I wanted it for my 819 but the shipping getting it here looked like a tall mountain to climb. I could not even find out if the base had any way to even load it...
What would the engine of your choice ( realistic here)for the 809 series be? I've seen hints at putting a detroit in one. Something upwards of 400hp would be nice. A jake brake would be nice. I'm actually thinking about a 6v92. We have experience with detroits plus I like the sound of them.

This has probably been covered a million times but where can I buy hardcopy manuals from? I have all the TSM numbers from the data plates but I've had little success finding those numbers in anyones inventories. I especially need a parts manual for this 819. It doesn't matter if it's a reprint...
I need some help Iding the year of production of my 819. Here are the numbers. I don't know which ones help so here are all of them.
Federal Stock number:2320-050-9004
Order Service Number: 8736869
ID Number: 05E-78871 C128 10128
Cont. Number: DAAE06-69-C-009
And there is a small tag on...
Is there a wanted section on SS? I need the little crane cab and some other stuff for my 819 and can't find the place to list it. It looks like the 816's had the provisions for this cab as well although I have never seen one with it. Lemme know.
Rocky
If anyone has them handy or can point me to the place that does, I need the height, length and width of an 819. Do the brake have to be released on those to get them to roll? Sorry to sound so ignorant but I'm ending someone else after the truck. They are taking a Landoll. I hope that will work...
Will a M127 flatbed trailer work behind an 819 or will the landing gear cause trouble with turning? I'm still looking for a 270 series trailer. If anyone happens to see one somewhere for sale, let me know.

Got the clearance on getting my m819 out of Ft. Knox. Look like it's going to be a hired out job to a HD wrecker service. Is there a stashed page of what to do to pull it? Thought about taking an axle out of each rear axle....Any help appreciated.

I want to do a bobbed deuce this summer. Already bought a decent looking drop side and waiting on EUC clearance. I'm hoping a drop side bed can be cut down because a drop side bead would be handier for me to have. Anyone ever cut one down?

I found out why GL is wanting me to pay for my truck I bought at Ft. Knox last week long before the EUC. They sent me an email saying it was sold as scrap and does not fall under the same terms as other trucks. I guess that means I don't get a title but I would probably find another route to get...
I bought a 66 model 818 with the multifuel. Due to euc deadlines, I don't know yet if that deal is viable or not. If not, I have my eye on some XM's . What are the differences between the two?
Rocky
Looks like there'd be a way for an 818 to pull two more 818's via the towbar system. After seeing new freightliners piggybacked one pulling another four via the fith wheel route, I was just wondering.
Rocky
What type of trailers are intended to be used with an M819? Does anyone know the capacity of the wrecker on those? Looks to be a little lighter than the 816.
