I'm going again this year. Who's going to join me?
Pic from last year and link to parade application.

So I decided to outfit my truck with a 5lb fire extinguisher. Not sure if/where it would have been mounted when in service so I decided to improvise. I devised a simple mount made of wood and magnets. Best part is there lots of different places to mount it on an all metal truck. Hope you like...
I do a lot of car show plus Cars & Coffee and I hang a sign on my truck inviting parents and kids to climb in and take a pic. Peeps really love it cause most cars at shows are look but don't touch. A comment I've overheard over and over is how hard it is to get in and out. That plus my wife...
NHC250 alternator pulley loose, not charging?!
I've lost count of the number of belts it's thrown in the last year, prolly 6-8. I finally identified the problem as a loose alternator pulley that wiggles and throws belts off. I tightened it down once only to have it come loose again. I was going...
Hazard lights behaving strangely? -resolved
So during the parade yesterday I ran my hazards but every time I depressed the service brakes they stopped flashing. Off the brakes and they started flashing again. Is this normal behavior?
To complement my dual fuel line mod and to prep for turning up the fuel some more I installed a EGT probe and gauge in my truck. Lots of other threads out there but I took lots of pics so here goes.
I choose a Hewitt Industries gauge and custom ordered one direct from them with 0-1600° range...
It's taken a month of short nights and even shorter weekends to finish this up but I'm finally done. This has been on my short list of mods since last summer. The actual labor was about 5 hours but easily 2x that when you count trips to the parts store, searching for tools, etc.
I went the...
So my fan always spins. Read lots of threads and they seem to end with fixing the shutterstat. I was hoping that was my problem but it seems not. I disconnected the air to the shutterstat but the fan continues to turn. I can stop the fan with a 2x4 so the clutch isn't frozen. The TM says notify...
The steering wheel in my '83 M925 is cracked to death (pictured) and I want to replace it. Many of the replacement steering wheels I find are of a slightly different style and size. Think the horn hardware from my horn will fit the different style?
I wonder which wheel would be original to my...
A ton of for sale just got locked and that left me wondering why. The lack of a mod comment as to why the thread(s) were locked left my wondering. Due dillagance led me to read the rules hyperlinked to on the THREAD LOCKED banner but still I couldn't figure out what rule was broken.
Now there's...
Tire davit woes *Resolved*
My tire davit is stuck in the closed position. The inner tube that extends out about two feet from the outer tube won't budge. It seems rusted in place from years of non use. I've flooded it with PB Blaster, banged on it with a hammer and even used a come along...
My solar panel install - with pics
Lots of good threads here about solar panels inspired me to add one to my '84 M925. I think it turned out well and I took lots of pics so I thought I'd document my efforts here.
Pic1- I used a pair of 12v Wildgame solar panels wired in series I found on...
Are there any clear lenses made for these standard side marker lights? I want to install a pair as reverse lights on my truck. I've searched a bunch with no luck.
Thanks!
Help with star head bolt *got it*
I'm trying to remove my IP before the rains come in tonight. One of the four bolts had this odd star shape head. How do I remove it? My 7/16 socket will fit but there's no room for a ratchet or any other driver. I doubt that even the right tool for the job...
NHC 250 No start-fuel problem *resolved*
*edit* resolved-I blew up the pump by reassembling it incorrectly.
Cranks but no start. Runs on starting fluid.
My fuel system needed some maintance so I replaced the fuel line from IP to fuel filter, completely cleaned canister and replaced filter...
My fuel hose from the PT to the filter is cracked and needs replaced. I couldn't get it off the filter so I took the whole thing off and brought it home to work on my bench. I've put about 150lbs of torque on the fuel line fitting but it won't come loose from the 90 degree elbow. I've soaked it...
What seal did I blow? *Answered*
Inside of the passenger front tire. I need to check the TM and do some reading here. What's this seal called?
It went when parked. I can tell because the grease dripped onto the tire, stayed there and was then flung onto my inner fender well.
Thanks!
Has anyone found a solution to the sideways pics? My search didn't turn up anything. Any sure fire work arounds until a fix is found? IMHO forum software should be glitch free. And of course good forum software helps grow membership and revenue.
Mods-while new, I've read enough to know this...
JB Weld to fix tach? Yep!
The tach in my M925 is inop. Turns out the female fitting in the back of the tach is wallowed out and won't grab the square tachometer cable. Besides replacement is there an easy fix for this? I was thinking about a little JB Weld in the hole, a light coat of grease...
Finally got a lug wrench and breaker bar and set about properly torquing all my lug nuts. 55/60 torqued properly to about 425 lb/ft but 5 on my front right wheel would only torque to about 200 lbs before the stud spin in the hub. So my question for you experienced types, do you think the...
