    M35a2 Fuel issue

I did check the shutoff lever with the cover off. It moves freely but does not go to 7 o'clock position. Stops at 6 o'clock. I tried manipulating it to 7 o'clock and cranking but with no different result.

    Broken pto "concealment"

Hello all, upon trying out my new m813 winch I found the pto had fallen off of the transmission. Yes, fallen off. Upon further inspection I found the pto had been previously broken and was "jb welded" back on the transmission. I had no load on the winch at the time. Has anybody else found a...

    Starting Issue Glow Plug Relay

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be the glow plug controller circuit board needed to be replaced as it had a burnt smell to it. I could not find a replacement one. I ended up using a snowplow relay and bypassed the resistor. By doing that I was able to use the glow plug with the smaller tab...

    Dump Conversion

tm america, what tires are you speaking of??? I still have the 9.00 20's. I have had no problems yet with them. I'm sure with 20 ton in the bed that would cause problems. What were you hauling that weighed that much? I would love to see some pics of other loads being hauled in your deuces. I...

    Dump Conversion

The floor is holding up fine so far hauling 1" minus gravel. I would imagine if you were to haul rip rap it would be best to load gently. The loader operator would probably know this though and not drop it from well above the bed. One bucket from the loader fills it up nicely with gravel. I'm...

    Dump Conversion

I dont have the numbers on hand but I will get it and post it, I took the pto off a junked deuce sitting on the frame rails. On a side note I hauled another 20 loads with the truck last week. It works great. It is a little slow with 5 ton on it, but A LOT cheaper than having someone else haul. I...

    charging troubles

Hello all. I have a 1984 truck with the 6.2 that has been converted to 12 volts. The problem I'm having is when the truck idles it charges fine. But when you put the truck into gear AND take your foot off the brake, the charging volts goes down to around 10 volts and stays there. Even at highway...

    Dump Conversion

Well i paid about $300 for the steel to reinforce the bed rails and make the hinges, $250 each for the cylinders, I had the pump, tank, and driveshaft, I had to buy a valve with a relief in it for about $80. I probably got about $100 in hoses and fittings. I found the pto on another junk...

    Dump Conversion

Here is a few pictures of a dump conversion my brother and I recently finished. The truck works great. The box dumps at a 45 degree angle. Plenty far for gravel. I've hauled 5 loads so far with the truck without any problems. The box could use taller sideboards though. 5 ton of gravel fills it...

Engine oil mythology debunked, and ZDP content

a lot like the newer trucks that specify 85-140 rear axle oil. I have had bad luck with that. 80-90 has worked fine for many years. now i see a lot more carrier bearing failure with synthetic oil. Not sure which way to lean on this one.
