Can't say for 100%, but I believe that the only WC set up in design with a MG ring was the WC 55 gun truck. They were later rebuilt them into WC 51/52's. The WC 55 carried a 37mm gun in back with a special mount & frame supports.
Any pic ya see with a WC and a MG ring was a field mod. The WC...
Hey Mac:
Can't say for sure what is for what. All I can say with any knowledge is that ALL handles started out chrome but were then painted OD.

I have MANY friends that are not native speakers of American English (& not many of us native speakers do that well either), & have never had a complait. Maybe questions for clarification, which is how one learns. Unfortunately, it's been over 30 years since I spoke any German to where I...
Oh Wolf:
Did ya see my post about frame extensions (Ooops, Beast Update (Front Bumper  )? To me, it looks as if the winch dealy on WC 57's CC was not a military app of any sort, & that's not meant to belittle him in any way either. Just an observation. Again, if it works & he's happy...

It was meant as a serious answer, but not offensive, & I'm sorry if ya took it that way. Back in the day, troops used whatever was at hand to make things work for their special needs (le; the Rhino Bumpers on the Shermans to cut thru the Hedgerows), so I wasn't talkin about us guys that...
Wolf:
Here's a history lesson for ya bro. Back in the day, vinched vehicles came from the factory with longer frames to mount the wich at it's proper distance. Now in the field, modifications were sometimes made.
If they wanted a winch on a non winch vehicle, they found a wreck & cut part of...
Hi Milbikes:
1st, if ya have the frames for the seats, then just go to an auto upholsterer & get em redone. Also check out the usual source for that type stuff, ie; Beechwood Canvas, or New Life Canvas (for covers). Midwest is a great source for repo parts & general knowledge. Then there's also...
Yo:
Well I have this winch I want to install on the Beast, but I needed a wich bumper, which is out of my budget range for now. Anywho, I ended up doin an even steven swap for a winch bumper kit made by Joh @ Midwest Military. Very fine work, but it turns out ya need frame extensions to be able...
