I changed my t-case oil yesterday. drained about 5 qts out looked really thin..and blackish. Drain plug had a small amount of very fine metal. Put new stuff in went for drive. I went 15 miles and glanced underneath everyrthing looked fine. Drove back home another 15 miles, went to bleed air...

I just put Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 in my truck works great. Wasnt cheap 19.50 a gal at Wal-Mart. (best price i could find) If your gonna go with syntheic make sure it full syn not the blend crap..that stuffs a rip-off notice they dont tell you what percentage of the oil is synthetic. -Adam

I personally wouldnt use GL-1 from the sounds of it, it seems to work. But how well? Everything i have read states that its for use in light duty trucks..its old out of date in my opinion. I just dont feel comfortable running it...look at this article the key standard being the SAE J2360 meets...
