I have recently picked up a 8.5 antenna for my hmmwv. The top section has 3 cracks that are a little crunchy and loose if you flex them. Can this be repaired with fiberglass? Or maybe another way?
No update yet. Been busy with work and the family. Hopefully will get a look at it again this week. I still need batteries. Any recommendations? i don't want to get the 6tl yet.
Ok update, i pulled all 8 glow plugs and they all came out surprisingly easy. All had water and white oil water sludge on them. I then filled with 5 gallons of diesel in the crankcase. I then took off the small cover by the starter and the motor spun easily. I turned it about 6 revolutions and...
Ok so where I am at now is. 5 gal of clean water removed from pan. Now at almost 2 gal of milky white sludge. I am thinking about filling with diesel and pulling glow plugs next to see if I can get it to turn.
Thanks for all the input everyone. I apologize for not stating that the intake was on the vehicle and didnt apear to have been off . I am going to drain it, change the filter, check with bores borescope, put in diesel and oil. I may drop the pan and check.
I picked up a 1045a2 from auction. It has water in the crankcase but isn't rusty. I haven't tried to start it yet. What are the odds I empty all the water and oil, add fresh oil, change filter and try to start it and everything be OK? I remember reading people successfully doing this but can't...
