I had a 1978 350 gas engine do that.
I welded a new key way in place pounded the balancer back on with a 4x4 post and sledge.
It lasted 4 or 5 years later then I sold the truck. I feal bad for the next guy that tries to remove it for a rebuild
I keep panty hose in all my trucks just incase of this. ""Not to hitch hike home LOL!!"" but to use as a temp belt for the water pump. If you put it on tight and cut the loose ends off so there not flopping around it will last about 15 to 20 minutes.
Glad it is ok.
Change the calapers. One of them is sticking
and it is not normal for any year suburban UNLESS it has drum brakes in the front and one is out of adjustment to pull to one side or the other
Spray Foam the stuff at Home-Depot Called TUFF STUFF
And it makes better faster repairs in rust holes than bondo.
and did I forget to say it stops any thing that vibrates, rattles or shakes and does wonders anoying neighbors loud honda tail pipes.I have not been woke up at 2:30am sence.
Same with my 1008 and it wont down shift after about 40 or 45 MPH
It wiil shift to 2nd at 10mph and to 3rd at 15mph if I just push the throttle1/4 of the way down. ""456 Gears""
I agree. I would pull the pan and pull the caps off and look at the bearings.
If the crank in not all screwed up you might get away with just replaceing the bearings and oil pump,
If the crank is realy scored bad take it to a rebuilder and have them resurface it.
About 3 hours of work on your...
it might be that front output shaft front bearing is loose.
Have you grabed the CV part of your drive shaft and checked to see if it moves up and down. it should not move at all up or
down
Your seal will leak if the bearing is to loose..

I think you might want to test to make sure all your glow plugs are working.
It should have fired right up for the time you waited for the glow plugs to heat
I have a friend that had a 1986 18 wheeler with 300 hp diesel that put his used motor oil that he took out of his own engine and put it right in his fuel tank but I dont think he would go as far as E85.
I would not put it in mine or motor oil for that matter.
I have a space under my house where weard creatures live.
I found them while I was tring to level it and they ran across my head and scared the crap out of me. I got a picture one of them just before it ran back under the house
Low power is about it but if you know offroading Carbs Suck on a Gas engine when you go strait up a cliff to the point of almost backfliping the carb will flood out and kill your engine and leave you in a messed up spot.
With the 6.2 diesel it will never happen.
And 91W350 is right on the 4low...
I wish I knew about that 37 dollar kit before I paid 200 for a rebuilder to do mine.
That more than likely would have made mine work just fine
But the shop did change every thing except the black outer steel case.
They do go bad.The part on the sending unit that goes out it looks like a 1 inch long popcicle stick with coper wire wraped around it like a square spring. Once the other part that rides up and down that little coper wire a millian times it wears out.
It will some day wear out and loose contact...
I feel lucky to have a Napa Warehouse down the street from me that delevers to most of the Napa stores in Texas
I get parts for every thing I own at Napa including early 1970s to 2008 Outboard boat motor parts.
