    M923 air pressure problem

There are plenty of hoses and valves on those trucks. One thing that helped me was to isolate the air tanks. There should be shut off valves on both sides. It helps to rule out one system at a time. Even if it's not a leak. Good luck.

    M923 air pressure problem

Yes. Pressure up the system and shut the truck down. All leaks should be sent to the hoses going into your intake pipe. Follow the air back from there. My leak came from the foot valve. Everything worked fine, but air went to the brake pedal and was able to billed off. Also, these trucks build...

what does the orange wire from the trans connect to?

Maybe it's for cruise control? The suburban had it and I removed it all.

what does the orange wire from the trans connect to?

The vacuum is all hooked up. Haven't started it yet. The sensor is just above the pan on driver's side I think. The trans shop that rebuilt it told me it was a kick down sensor. Like I said, don't see what it would hook to. Looks like I better look at the Chevy book tomorrow. Thanks.

what does the orange wire from the trans connect to?

    It's out of a 1985 diesel suburban.

what does the orange wire from the trans connect to?

I know it's for the kick down. But where does it connect? I don't believe it has anything to do with lights of any kind.

what does the orange wire from the trans connect to?

Had to pull the trans and motor now all back together and can't figure out where the orange trans wire goes... Figured it went to the pedal, don't see anything. Thanks!

You can use deuce springs, but they won't be very rigid. Also they will mount directly under the frame rails. Would hit the trucking scrapyard and get some outboard springs. Mine were cheep and they are rated for five tons. Just had to get some u-bolts and drill the frame. All personal...

    M923 air pressure problem

will have to wait until the weekend. thanks for the word of caution. I hear those are some heavy duty springs.

    M923 air pressure problem

I can hear it leak from the air intake from when the engine is shut off until the tanks are empty. No doubt that's it. I am not sure about isolating it. That sounds like a good start. The TM lists my probem word for word. I just can't figure out their troubleshooting guide. Air leaking into...

    M923 air pressure problem

So, the truck does hit 120 psi at idle, takes roughly 15 minutes. It's been like this from the start. Bleads out in about 30 minutes back to zero I did the old soap and water trick on the entire truck. I hear some air passing through the air brake but not leaking out of it. I hear air coming...

1985 923a1 where is the engine temp sensor? My gauge is maxed so it has power...

Well, I finaly got to the bottom of it. The engine temp gauge was hooked to the trans temp sensor. I corrected the wiring and found the trans temp sensor was bad. Just waiting for my part now. Thanks for the help everybody.

    M923 air pressure problem

PRIMARY AIR SYSTEM FAILS TO MAINTAIN PRESSURE (NO MAJOR LEAKS, AIR CAN BE HEARD ESCAPING INTO AIR INTAKE STACK, PARKING BRAKE APPLIED) This was the problem statement I found in the TM. Wasn't able to figure out what test they wanted me to do or why there are pressure lined in the intake stack...

1985 923a1 where is the engine temp sensor? My gauge is maxed so it has power...

You are good. I was able to find the sensor location in the TM but not the guide. Thank you very much! I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

1985 923a1 where is the engine temp sensor? My gauge is maxed so it has power...

found the sensor and pulled the gauge to see if it was wired right. no idea what to do besides buy a sensor or gauge

1985 923a1 where is the engine temp sensor? My gauge is maxed so it has power...

So, when I picked up my truck, the only gauge working was the engine temp gauge. Got everything fixed and took the truck to a shop to have some other stuff done. Now my engine temp sensor doesn't work. It has power, when I turn the battery on the needle goes straight to the top. So my question...

I think we had trouble with the five ton leaf pack hitting things so we went a different route. I know the turbo is easy to get. its the plumbing thats a challenge.

Thanks, a lot of the build was my design, but my friend did most of the work. Looks like you got your springs on already. Over here on the west coast all this stuff is harder to get, so we put commercial truck springs on the back. Bolts to the outside of the frame for stability, rated at 5 tons...

Well, that's my 85. Looks good, but after seeing the tan truck with a flatbed I know there are better ones out there. Added about 16" to the drive line, so not quite as short as some.
