I've managed to out-climb a humvee before in my stock deuce with 8 psi in the stock ndt's duals on some fairly steep sand hills. In fact I came back a few weeks later in my pick-up to try it. I couldn't even make it to the approach of the hill at street pressures.
In the sand, max pressure I...
I had a friend who ran them on his 923a2 ( tandem rear )
They looked really nice on the truck, but saped up a lot of power. I ran circles around him in the mud with my deuce on ndt's
I speculate that a 5ton could verticaly scale anything up to the lower point of the front bumper. Look up front aproch angles for refrence. After that modification would be required to push the front axle out in front of the front bumper.
I've been searching the web, and couldn't find any sources for new flywheel and pressure plate bolts.
I'm working on my new motor and would like to use my old flywheel which was recently resurfaced to go with my new clutch. The flywheel from the new motor has surface rust and would have to be...
My " new" replacement motor has the "good" 12 point bolts in it. I noticed the difference right away between them and my old engine. They are more desigined like high performance style rod bolts.
Now though, Were mine new at the time of the motors rebuild or resused? And add to that I removed...
Does the fuel return to tank with just the in tank pump running? I have had problems with 100% wvo in cold temps not fully purging the system and causing the fuel not to freely return to the tank. Causing a "like over fuel for low rpm condition" which would run only at higher rpm freely and...
Oh, and far as the pump being tuned up. I've had it turned up and down for "special occasions" so much that it is hard to say with any accuracy just how much total it is from stock setting. It is up from the depot setting though, but not by a gross amount during that last ride.
The air filter "looks good" which means little of nothing, but the original equipment filter condition(vacum guage) indicated it was in like new condition. Although I doubt those were ever ment to accuratley measure flow restriction, rather more of a reference.
I'm jumping in late here, but is the air filter housing and inlet piping restrictive? I know the vacum gauge for the filter condition says no restriction when running and filter looks good. The short of it is that I am in the process of getting ready to pull my ldt due to bottom end noise. I...
That is a darn nice looking truck. How much oil are you going to charge me for a ride in that!
Unfortunatley my wife has baned me from emailing you now, since I keep telling her that I have to have one now too.............
I have a commercial International that is having a problem with loosening nuts after new tires this year. I'm going to check the studs now, thanks for the tip.
Try tedG on here, he isn't a dealer but has quite afew in various stages of completion at any given time. And once in awhile I see him selling some nice complete units
I was just thinking about this today, when after the conclusion that my 5ton winch with level wind is just to much for a clean install on the front of my deuce. Don't suspose you want to try that warn out-- and tell us how she'll do in a real world pulling senerio.
While using a 1 micron filter sounds good. The reality is that bag filters are around 90% efficient, so some larger particles make it thru. But they are enexpensive. Although absolute filters are availbile they are much more expensive. So i figure my final product is probally 5 micron or better...
I like to filter mine down to 1 micron. And use a 1/2 micron filter when filling the truck. Changing filters on the road sucks. So if you filter finer than your onboard filters...notin but smooth sailing. The easiest way i've found is if freezes in your area you can strain out the ice on the...
