Hey I know this sounds odd, but change your fuel filter. I used to have the same problem getting out of 2nd and it ended up being the engine struggling to do anything, much less shift.
I am currently living in San Diego and I own an M1009. It is registered like a normal car and there is no smog. The law states any 1997 or before diesels do not require smog.
So i have a new malfunction. now the truck sometimes has power, sometimes only a little power. the starter relay no longer clicks as much as it used to, and it resets whenever try to actually start the truck(after glowplugs cycle).
ideas?
EDIT
this all started after doing the battery...
UPDATE***
so i finalyy got around to checking my batteries, and i discovered a goof i made a while back. so a while ago i had needed to move the rear battery to do some repairs. when i put the battery back in, i put it in wrong and the cover that goes on top squished two of the little caps for...
Hi all
I have had a malfunction and I can't figure it out. Today I got in my M1009 to drive a employee home, and after the wait light went out I tried to start the truck. All i got was a loud click and all power went out. Nothing works. I took a look at my batteries and the rear one was very...
true I can purchase most parts at an auto parts store, however I think its cheaper to purchase a junker and part it out. My big thing right now is a replacement driver side door. will any cucv model door work?
Hello all
Supposing I purchased a cucv of any type off of gov liquidation, what parts would I be able to use for my 84 m1009? for example, if i needed a driver side door for my m1009, could i pull it off an m1008? how about wheels or v belts? What parts will interchange?
I have so many things...
i have had my m1009 for several months now. I wont say it doesnt have problems, because it does. i have driven on 800 mile road trips towing a trailer and a full cargo load and have had no problems. it loses a little power in high altitudes, but all diesels do that. some of the things i have...
if it hyrdro locked while running, he already has a bent rod. if it didnt bend, you should send them to nasa so they can copy the metal and use it for sun probes.
eg
he has a bent rod.
no cargo planes
but after being on the road for 18 hours and drinking at least 3 redlines, i could of swore i was being chased by optimus prime.
i won that race:grd:
(if you dont know what a redline is, google it)
so that means i want to CUT the wire. i never did like that automatic business. i like it the way it was on my pop's old tractor. i'm used to pushing a button.
Hello
I am planning on setting up a momentary on switch for my m1009 so i can manually control the glow plugs. this is the method i am planning to use.
1. cut light blue wire from GP relay under dash and connect to manual switch.
2. run a new wire from other pole on switch to a good ground...
Hi all
I have a question. Does the transmission on the 84 m1009 have a rear or front pump? I know that most newer cars have a front pump, but i wonder if it is old enough to have a rear pump.
Thanks
My name Is Thomas Edward Dennis. (8582317385) I live in california. When i registered my CUCV(1984 m1009) I had absolutely ZERO problems with registering it as a normal everyday car. I didn't even have to smog it because of its age and fuel type. At the time, i was living in San Diego County. I...
