    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

The paint is exactly how it was when we bought it, the truck is actually so terribly rusted from the cab back its pathetic. Sadly, the 6.2 needs glow plugs, and my father lost interest after purchasing a new toy, so it hasn't moved in a while, we bought the tires and wheels already recentered...

    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

10 Gallon tank is not overkill for me IMO... Grinder or cut off wheel will burn through that pretty quickly if ever I want to use one, and I would most definately plan to run airtools. Also thinking about an onboard welder setup, but I am not sure how I would power it exactly. And yeah, I had...

    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

This is my fathers truck, he doesn't want to, I am trying to convince him its the best method for clearance. However, I believe he will not wheel this truck much. Looking for a M1009 Blazer to swap tons under, he loves the 6.2 so far, we all love the 400, the 208 is fine for what this truck...

    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

Did very well, we did all the main trails with no problems, tried daniel on sunday, which is the hardest trail at the park, busted a u joint in the front Driveshaft. They were the original u joints though probably, we didnt have time to replace them for the trip, as the shop we had do the lift...

    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

Figured I would make a thread and show off the truck. Got it lifted and wheeled URE this past weekend. Recentered 8 Bolt H1's on 37 Military OZ takeoffs. 6" rough country lift with a few extras to make it work on the 1 ton truck. First picture is stock, 2nd picture is not...

On the way to URE... Good weekend, broke a Ujoint in the front shaft, going to be upgrading them this weekend, didn't have time before the trip Ignore the hitch, it was scary, we had a buddy throw some tubing at it to brace it for the trip last minute, going to look into getting a normal hitch...

Just wanted to come back and update everyone. Our M1008 will be sitting on 37's and Recentered h1's by the end of the week. I run a local 4x4 Club and we have our Bi Annual Uwharrie Trip this upcoming weekend, so that put us on a very short deadline, so I will tell the story of the chaos and...

Well, this morning dad called and we talked about lifting it asap. Is there a package deal out there that can save us some money going from 4-6" of lift? I know the ORD shackle flip but all the parts really add up if you do them seperate, willing to buy used if any of yall have some for sale...

It may have the 12 conversion, in all honesty, I popped the hood only to check the fluids and make sure everything was there, looked around for rust, and made sure everything worked. I won't actually get to take a look at the truck until sunday afternoon when I am over there. Jumping on here...

    Wheel Well Rust

Glad to see this thread, as this was the worst patch of rust I found on the new m1008, the driver fenderwell has about a 5x5 rust hole. Hole thing has some surface rust but I am not too worried about that. Thanks

Alright I will check into the relay here in a minute, thanks for the info. We have a ton of diesel shops in the area, and a good buddy of mine is a tech at Kenworth, but I gotta tell you, Ive never tinkered with a diesel so its a whole new world for me. I figure it would be pretty easy to find...

Only problem with that is 16.5 wheels are notorious for bead problems, are you saying stay away from the h1's? Are they not worth recentering for double beadlocks? My next choice would be the XZL's in the 36x10.00 that is supposed to be tough as nails and great for towing. I am still...

I don't know much about electrical work, what should I look to fix on the relay? Ive heard about converting it to the 12 valve system but Ive also ready "If it works, leave it alone" and that the m1008's 24v systems arent as troublesome as the m1009s. If you could link me to a thread about...

Hey all, New guy here from North Carolina We picked up an M1008 CUCV on monday, it runs and drives no problem, everything is in great working order, so we have been discussing the plans for it, it will be my fathers offroad toy, it will be used to tow on occasion, and be driven to and from the...
