Definitely get a hold of TedG. Not only does he have a line on parts but he's a wealth of information and will be more than happy to answer your questions.
Something else to look at for grins, how's the tranny fluid? Maybe it's starting to get burnt and the trans is starting to slip. Might be just a little but enough to screw up your MPG's. Just a thought.
I'm usually watching the auctions there but trucks are selling RIDICULOUSLY high anymore. I've found that buying one off of a private party (since I don't need a whole truck anyway) would net me one for 10% of what Gl trucks sell for. I've got this project on hold for the time being (economy and...
Quick trailering question. How tall is a deuce with 53's on it? I'm trying to figure out if the truck I want to build is ging to be too tall to be trailered to where I need to go. Stock M35 is ~9'4" on ~40" 9.00x20's. If you were to swap out for ~53" 16.00R20's that adds 6.5" in frame height and...
I think it's a helluva idea. As a matter of fact, I'm working on doing the same thing. Only I want to leave it a 6x6 with a flatbed and a built smallblock with an automatic. One problem I thought about, will that big motor fit in the engine compartment (lengthwise) of a small truck? That's one...
I'm looking at a couple trucks to buy, but before I decide on anything, I need to figure out what transportation would cost. It would be from Northern OH (one truck's on the Western side, one truck's on the Eastern side) to basically the Lansing, MI area. Probably 150 miles one way. I don't have...
So, out of curiosity, nearest I can tell, the multi-fuel is 165 hp and 350 ft/lbs torque correct?
So, mounting up a 350 SBC mildly built should put me at about double the hp but more importantly the same or better torque. With a 700R4 or 4L80 should still be able to get 55-60 mph. Is my...
Nah, the only waste is one that never gets used. This way it's on the road like God intended. Just with a differant cab.
I thought about that after seeing that truck before. Unfortunately, I know my limitations. I'm definitely not a body man when it comes to welding. Building structural...
Does anybody know where I can find a deuce chassis on the cheap? I don't need a body or bed. Maybe not even motor or trans. I want to put together a farm truck with an 80's Chevy crewcab and a flatbed. I tried and tried to convince myself I could fit in a regular deuce cab but it just ain't...
Man, I apologize to everyone. I've been doing some research and found out you're all right. My whole life I've thought that bias ply meant tubes but turns out, that's not true. My bad. Did you ever learn something that turned your whole world on it's ear?
I know it's noy hard to do, but now I'm confused. I was always told "bias ply" tires meant you had to use tubes regardless of the rim? So you guys are saying I can run a bias ply tire on a radial rim without a tube? That would be sweet and I would proudly stand corrected. FWIW, I'm using a...
Actually, the RT2's are bias-ply which means they at least need tubes. I found out they don't need flaps if not mounted on a split rim and my tire guy can get me tubes. You're probably thinking of the 37x12.5's which are the newer radials.
