There were no 'matching numbers' on these units, ie: tub numbers didn't match block numbers. There are two primary sets of numbers on them. The first is the "Patent Plate" located behind the passenger seat on the leading edge of the tire well. It's about 2"x3" or so and will have the MDXXXXXX...

For confirmation on the frame, look on the cross member just above the rear diff. If there's a plate about 8"x10" welded to the top of it between the cross member and the tub, it's an M38A1 frame. That's for the machine gun mount pedestal base plate. I'm not convinced it's an A1 frame as in...
