Time to update; bought an exhaust from Midwest and got that put on. Sounds great. Had to change the fuel filter. The one I had was not working very well. I got one of those small glass filters with the replaceable elements. Just picked up a oem gas tank with sending unit and pickup. Can't wait...

Had it running for a while today. All the gauges seem to be working. No bubbles in the fuel filter. Runs well. Need to figure out what the exhaust looks like. It is missing.
Well, after 2 years maybe 3, my M38a1 is finally close to being finished. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Have the top on but not the side curtains or doors. Now I find out the trans might be cracked. Not good but I think I have found another.
Don't know why the bumper looks like that. All I know is that I would not have wanted to be in it when it hit. Had it running within an hour of getting it off the trailer. So far the plans are to pressure wash it down, then decide what color to paint it. Til then, enjoy as is, then restore and...

I need help on final decision. Here's what I have. 1953 M38a1 Strada Blue. Her are the markings that are gong on it, but I need some help deciding which hood numbers to use. Yellow 3" lettering- U. S. AIR FORCE, 2nd line- 53B8056 or 20958056 Which one of these numbers do I use on the hood? also...
Yea, that would work. I remember seeing some kind of jeep coat for sale somewhere. I believe it was similar to a leather longcoat. Might want to try that. lol
I just pulled one from my 53 m38a1. I believe it to be from a cj5. Was a tight fit but was bolted down the right way. Don't know if it will go back in or not. I'll wait and see how the paint job turns out.
