Well figured I’d try flipping a wheel around to see what it would look like... anyone got any 9.5” fender flares for a deuce lol. Looks like I either live with the rubbing or shell out some more $$ for wheels. It technically fits and could be run that way at least in the front with out any mods..
Yea, I put the adapter plates on the inside and torch cut the center out of one of the original wheels and put it behind it as a wheel spacer. Made a little difference but still it’s barely got any right turn at all, it’s fine for driving on the road but going to turn on to sharp roads or...
Good morning, I have a bobbed m35a2 with flipped hubs in the rear on 395 tires with the mrap style rims and adapter plates. I installed power steering on my truck using Waterloo specialties kit and having a decent rubbing issue on the pitman arm. The power steering works awesome but limits the...
Afternoon gentlemen,
I’ve owned my 1971 (Titled) M35A2 for the better part of 12 years now and have loved every second of it. Wanted to thank all of you for the help and knowledge over the years to keep this old girl up and running. I’ve met some of you in person to buy/swap parts and help me...
Got the backup camera monitor bracket done, then waiting on paint to dry for my remote reservoir bracket. All brackets were made out of .090” aluminum. My buddy recently got a 3D printer and made me a gauge mount for my steering column to hold my fuel psi gauges.
Unfortunately I was in a hurry to get it going and built my own 1 piece driveshaft. I haven’t had any problems so far and have taken it off-road and crossed a couple creek beds with no issue. Only problem I have is a slight vibration from 40-45mph but that could also be the tires or something...
UPDATE:
I got the winch installed and have messed around with it a little to make sure it operated as designed. I had to pull my bumper and brush guard. Install the extension brackets (keep bolts loose) then mounted the winch brackets to the winch ( they can be tight). Had to use an alignment...
That's a good idea, I made the pin out of stainless T304 and didn't want to put a hard bushing in there to cause more damage. I think brass should be soft enough to deflect some force and not damage the housing or shear the pin. Another thing I was looking at was stepping down to a .75" end mill...
Here's some pics of my drum lock pin fix. I used a transfer punch that fit snug all the way through and zeroed off that. Went about .250", didn't wanna take a chance of cutting through to the inside of the case. Next I'll machine a bushing that will press in there (most likely aluminum, unless...
Little bit of an update: I got the PTO installed and used a .020 and .010 gasket. It gave minimal slop and I have no whining or loud/strange noises. You can barely hear it run when engaged. I'll post the pn: for the studs, but I used 3/8 16 x 3/8 24 1.75" in total length and they fit perfect...
M35A2 WINCH CONVERSION AND REBUILD.
First step of converting a WO/W to a W/W is obvious, you need to find a winch "kit" or a parts truck. I opted to find a complete truck that way I know I got everything I need and I'd have some idea how it all goes back together. The truck I sourced my parts...
I have 1/2" adapter plates and cut the center out of one of my stock wheels to use as a spacer and it still rubs. Another option might be turning the wheel around and have the tire stick way out, seen people do it on the rear to avoid flipping the hubs.....
these are the wheels I'm running
I'm running the same set up, it does rub but i plan on just adding to the steering stop. You lose a little turning radius but with the power steering it's easy enough to back up and turn again. I'd recommend going to a diff wheel if you havnt bought them yet but if you did I'd still run them.
I found this seat for sale locally from a guy that worked at BAE it was new in the box/plastic wrapper with the bolt kit. I won't say how much I paid but it was not much... It's not an air ride seat but has height adjustment (using 2 gas shocks) and locks firm in place where you want it. The...
