Parking Brake Cable Adjusting Thread Specs Needed

When I replaced my cable, I could not get that weird nut off. I cut it off and replaced it with a washer and two standard hex nuts tightened against each other. Has been working fine for about a year.

    deuce exhaust sound...HELP!

Was this problem ever solved? Inquiring minds want to know!

New O rings on HH ... truck no start.

I remember a thread started by Gimpy, I think, where the OP ran his deuce out of fuel and discovered that was death to the HH. Turning at high speed with no fuel to lubricate it ended badly. Don't remember if he ever got it started or had to replace the HH. Perhaps your episode was the...

    Rear Main Seals

Are there any new production seals being manufactured at this time? I'd hate to go through the work of changing the seal only to have it leak because the NOS seal I put in there is over 10 years old. Thanks this is what I need to know. As far as surplus seals, the only issue is how they are...

    2.5ton Deuce muffler question.

I got mine at NAPA- don't know if you have one nearby. You could probably get it at a muffler repair shop.

    Considering 5 ton!!

5T harsher ride???? that is surprising, thought they had an air ride seat Like I do? what about lowering the air pressure in the tires a little (CTIS?) I have a friend with a 5T that I have driven a few times and I hate it because the ride is so harsh. I love the P/S and automatic but my back...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I decided to connect my reverse lights to a switch on the dash also- that way I can use them as work lights. Also, if I want to sneak around or be covert, the backup lights won't come on in reverse. (Sneak around in a deuce? Dudes crazy.)

    Behr Paint adhesión question.

I agree that it has not cured yet- the humidity in your area needs to decrease considerably before it will. It may take a month of dry weather to fully cure. Unless you're running a dehumidifier in your garage, the humidity in there is almost as high as it is outside. Your vehicle didn't get...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If it doesn't leak, I would leave it alone! :-)

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I had the same leak issue when I put mine on and tried Teflon tape. It doesn't hold up long against the Dot 5. The copper washer on the plug is what seals the m/c. I used some white Permatex thread sealer on both sides of the copper washer and that stopped the leak.

Protecting paint and hardware from UVs and rust with wax?

Ive noticed the Gillespie paint does not behave like automotive paint- sanding doesn't "bring it back" like automotive paint. I don't intend to repaint anytime in the near future anyway. :-) p.s: that's too much hand sanding to do an entire deuce

Protecting paint and hardware from UVs and rust with wax?

Ditto on the do not wax! I painted my deuce with Gillespie 24052, Marine Corp forest green semi gloss last January. By April it had faded to flat. I tried waxing it to bring the shine back and it worked for a few days. Then, like Ray said it turned white. It's impossible to remove from the...

Talk Me Out of This M1009

In looking at the pics you posted, the frame is cracked in two places and it is obviously sprung. (Twisted out of shape). Probably good for scrap.. Just kidding! (You said to talk you out of it :-) )

What is this 14 volt alternator terminal for?

Well, not sure what its for but I don't intend to use it for anything. Thanks for all the input! I'll just close it up and continue on...

What is this 14 volt alternator terminal for?

It is a Leece-Neville alternator, 60 amp. Couldn't read anything else on the tag but like Clinto said it is the same as on any other deuce I have seen.
