    H1 vs. HMMWV?

How did you end up with a green carc hummer, the originals where all tan? ABS went in in 1999 FYI, the hummer was really the "heavy" hummer - bigger half shafts and a high speed t-case, more like the A2 than the first generation HMWV's. In around 1995 they started to install the variable rate...

    SOCOM PINZ MOD info

Good point on the width. I have seen this first hand and it is a real disadvantage of the hmmwv. Still the hummer feels narrow once you start drving the stalwart throught the same trails...(My avatar has hummer in the background) If you want to trade for some steel 2 pc whels let me know. I...

    SOCOM PINZ MOD info

Ok On closer look, the half shafts ARE from the hummer, the A-arms are NOT. the hummer A-arm uses bushings, the chassis you have appears to have spherical bearings, likely a custom fabricated deal. Let me know if you need any more info on the hummer and ctis system. FYI - those are the 2...

    SOCOM PINZ MOD info

I have both pinz and hummer, the discs and callipers are from a hummer/hmmwv. No sign of the geared hubs or arm's in your photos but the A-arm bushing spacing looks about right. I would suspect that the brakes were moved up because of water travel and/or lots of mud. The Ctis is pretty...

    converting to ABS traction control

I'd say forget the ABS, just get some decent tires. If your avatar is accurate, your swampers are 99% of the problem, thy are terrible tires. Go with Toyos on 17" rims. (BFG or MT/R's) the difference is like a driving a new truck I had swampers on my 92 hummer, they where very very VERY bad.

    Help with H1 purchase

I have 3 hummers . One a 92 and a 98 (as well as some military trucks) and an H2. The 6.2 is a far more reliable truck than the turbo's and for the most part the 6.2 is a HMMWV with nicer seats and interior. The passenger heating and cooling on the 6.2 is not very good The 6.5 trucks...

On tjhe avatar - Thats my british built fv-622. It is fully amphibious. Good point on the racing setup for the transmission. AAfter talking with the suppier, they will supply both a diesel torque converter and valve setings for you applicaitons but you have to ask them to do so. Thanks for...

    looking for engine source

I've seen a few guys selling the pull outs at pretty low prices. The problem is to find someone that will ship a known good engine as shipping costs almost as much as the engine. On the transmission, I might opt for one that has been rebuilt for racing as they seem to use better parts and some...

    looking for engine source

Does anyone know of a good source for 6.2 or 6.5 NA engines and a th400 transmission. I need to do a drive train replacement and have been looking at some of the hmmwv pull outs as an option on the engine.

A Pinz going up a wall...

You guys that think the pinz is perfectly comfortable must be much younger than me. The Pinz is a hard truck to drive every day if you have arthritis (or any injury for that matter) in the wrists. And that flapping canvas roof.... I don;t know about the 45 side slope in a pinz. The hardtop...

A Pinz going up a wall...

I have a pinz and a Hmmwv (92 hummer actually). The comments on youtube are wrong. A hummer would not be able to go over the crest without bottomong out. The pinz 6x6 is a very good truck, better in many ways then the Hmmwv. The only deficiencies are the low horse power which limits its hill...

float shipment from milwaukee to niagara falls

HI, Its a 5 ton tracked vehicle, about the size of a deuce. Are there any companies or induviduals that specialize in this type of shipment. I've shipped humvees before but this is bigger and won't fit on the equipment that those carriers use. Thanks.
