M998 power steeing sector top seal number.

I'm not sure how to use the tms. Anyway this is not it. It is where the fold ups lock the nut on top of the sector. I would imagine there's a civie vehicle that shares the same set up. Anyway I'll try again.

    Start box woes.

Just trying to figure out what is going on. My 998 kds green start box will cycle the plugs normally when it's raining and the vehicle sitting outside. When inside and in the dry the wait light will flash only for a second and the plugs will not heat. I cracked the box to take a looksee inside...

    Squeaks driving me crazy..............help

Fixed. It was the insulators in the mid and sides of the hood. I knew they was worn but didn't think bad enough to cause this. The "tip" was I noticed a bolt that had been rubbing against the hood and then used a couple of 1/4" rubber bushings to test. All squeaks stopped. Just received the new...

    Squeaks driving me crazy..............help

Will give it a try. As far as I know all parts like u joints and ball joints are fine and in good working order. I've been around cars and built cars all my life and to me it sounds like a surface like rubber to rubber or in another situation I had fiberglass to fiberglass. This one has been...

    Squeaks driving me crazy..............help

Checked that. Have grease fittings on all ball joints and very liberally greased them. Just wondering if it's where the aluminum panels are rivited together and there is some movement.

    Squeaks driving me crazy..............help

M 998 when I first start driving there is no squeaks. After about 5 minutes the whole front dash of floor starts squeaking like crazy. I have tried to locate a certain area but it seems it's the entire width of the front. Also I removed the speedo cable and lubed it with a graphite anti seize...

    Start box woes

It did fire up after charging the batteries. He still thinks the GPs are not working. Reading over several threads do you guys think it maybe could be a ground that is not 100%. Seems to be a never ending problem on these vehicles. I do plan on making a ground harness for my 998 to make sure...

    Start box woes

On a friends 998 his start box toasted one night while sitting in the garage. He ordered a replacement box and sender and swapped the box out but when he reconnected the batteries he could hear a solenoid clicking in the box. This is with the switch in the off position. On thing I noted was...

Can the Protector Box be repaired?

First, let me thank everyone for their answers. I have no experience working on these trucks so you guys and your wisdom have been a great help. When the truck was unloaded into the drive the first thing I did was install new plugs. After such, I started checking the wiring system for grounds...

Can the Protector Box be repaired?

Don't know if it matters a lot or not but the engine still runs and starts. The wait light doesn't come on but I let it go about 20 seconds before trying to start it and it fires right up. Sometimes I don't hear the solenoid kicking in so I give it a wack with a rubber mallet gently and it...

Can the Protector Box be repaired?

And if so, where do I send it. I'll try to attach the photos showing the hot spots where the damage is within the box. I'm not much of a solid state repair type person but I think these are a power transistor (maybe a different name). Also there was maybe a diode or resistor that was blown in...

Help on Radius Rod M 998

Is there a difference in lengths? I can see where this is the problem as it seems the hub assemblies differ too. The side the radius rod goes to appears to have no oil fill plug like all the others. I have two 998’s. Still learning every minute.
