M109 Trip to Owls Head, Maine

Nice pics and write-up! This land-locked-lubber spent a week enjoying Maine in late July and climbed Mt. Katahdin! It was great!

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

It's been a few months since the last post, so here's an update. It's been a real test of patience on getting the title for the M135, but it finally came through with its share of red tape and hassle. I'll put it up for sale again or perhaps get it roadworthy and licensed. We'll see what happens!

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

With some reluctance I have put the M135 up for sale in the classifieds. Mainly time and other projects have put this deserving project on the back burner. Part of the issue is it being 40 minutes away from home whenever I'd like to work on it, but that's my hassle for being a city dweller! I...

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

The online carb manual was a big help. I printed it out and put in a binder to make sure it all went back together okay. I got the carb back on the M135 today, but that's all I had time for. The next tasks are brakes and tires. The wheel lugs are stuck on real good, so that's the next big...

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

Ok, another quick update! I put the starter back in and managed to get it started for my first time! It purred like a kitten at idle, but that's all it would do -- idle. I pulled the carb and found the throttle shaft was immobile. There was a carb kit in the cab, so I am going through the...

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

Thought I put out an update on my M135. The starter was acting up so I pulled it. It seemed like the bendix so I had a new bendix on hand. Upon disassembly there was some crud under the bendix making it immobile. Soon I'll get it all back together. I rounded up a few functioning batteries...

GMC owner/picture thread. Putting a face to the trucks

I don't have one of myself, but here's one with a buddy who help load the M135 onto the trailer.

I think it was Channing, TX, but I'll need to check the title next time I have a chance. I am pretty sure it was not sitting in a lot.

I'll need to check out the bumper markings in person next time I am at my storage lot. That area is a bit rough due to the snow plow mounting/welding etc.

Yes, more or less local. It was previously a snow plow / Civil Defense Truck from the TX panhandle. It sat in a building in TX most of its post-Army life.

    52 GMC M135 and M211 Projects

Hi All! I thought I'd share pics of my M135 now that I have it hauled home to my storage lot. It's pretty solid and complete and needs some brake and starter work to get it operational. I am anxious to get started on it, but it will most likely be a Winter project. i also have what's left of...

    Newbie from the KC Area

Hi All, I've been on here for a few months now, but have not introduced myself. I've been into collecting cars, trucks and motorcycles my whole life, be it toys, models or the real thing. I've always liked Military Trucks, but not had the opportunity to own one until recently when I ended up...
