    New Deuce

Thanks for the comments. I bought the truck because it has almost no rust. A little on the fender by the stack and some on the upright piece behind the cab. Our other one had a ton of rust with some bondo. It will be nice to work on something worth keeping.

1028 Acting funny at highway speeds.

OK i think i solved my problem. i searched all the lines pretty well and i couldn't see anything leaking except for the lift pump, and it was leaking pretty bad. I went to NAPA and bought a new pump, put it on and couldn't get it to pump fuel to save our lives. tried everything and came to the...

1028 Acting funny at highway speeds.

i just went and puller the check valve off. seems to be pretty clean. the spring is working smoothly. i looked in the hole to the pump, and that looks clean also. i guess ill start checking the lines. does a leak from a fuel line have to be bad to cause a problem like this or could it be...

1028 Acting funny at highway speeds.

I did check the tranny fluid and that was fine. its just kind of hard to explain. its like its lagging. there is zero throttle response when this happens until the pedal is depressed quite a bit, then the motor revs. almost like the truck isnt getting any fuel until the pedal is half way down...

1028 Acting funny at highway speeds.

This just started happening recently, but when im traveling at speeds above 40 MPH the truck acts goofy. It will cruise fine for a little bit but then it will just start losing power randomly and slowing down. When i push the pedal down to regain speed nothing happens till it gets to about half...

    Radiator Replacement

ive had mine in for about 3 months and ive noticed that it cools better so my heat isnt as good. but as far as craftsmanship it looks fine. the only thing that didnt quite fit with mine is that the bung for the overflow hose on the filler neck of the rad.... it was in a different position then...

    Radiator Replacement

i got a quote from the radiator shop recently to have mine recored. the shop told me about $600 bucks just for a core... they gave me the option of a 4 row 100% aluminum radiator from china for $290, oil lines tranny lines and all. he never told me where he ordered it from but i assume if was...

    M1028 vs M1008

i like both. it just so happened that when i was ready to but one there was only 2 for auction near me, and both of them were 1028's i just chose the one with least mileage. got unlucky with the rust though, cause it came from Vermont.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

most recent thing i have done is put and aluminum radiator in. hardly gives me any heat, but it beats paying 600 bucks for another core for the factory radiator.

2010 Fall Rausch Creek MV Rally!!!

We just went about 2 weeks ago and spent all of our time on the west and south property. the 11 loop was pretty wide all the way through, but i was only driving a cucv. Ive never driven a 5 ton so i dont know how big they feel, but a deuce would have no problem making it though. i didnt ride...
