    shorty bed on m931A2

Here is my m931a2 with an m105 as the bed. I got the bed for next to nothing, so had to try it.And I wanted something a little different also. I still need to do a matching cammo paint. I am converting the wheel wells into tool/strap storage boxes. All I have done there so far is to just make...

    12V and 24V alternators on 8.3L

Looks very nice. Any chance of more pics of the brackets? or a front view of installed alternator? I just did the 24v Delco 27si upgrade. How did you go about getting the right length belt? How will you route the belt with the tensioner right there? Tensioner to top alt and then down? Thanks

Need a trailer to haul a jeep.

Thanks, i like that. I could easily make some ramps. Thought about the tow bar thing, But ive broken some axles and ball joints that would make the drag home a little rough.

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

Another update. I found a thread on here about removing a diode from inside the ABS module and so i gave it a shot. Very easy repair. I am unable to electrically explain how and why it worked, but it did! My ABS lamp is off, fuse no longer blows, ABS works flawlessly. I still have no low air and...

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

OK,just an update. New alternator seems to have fixed most of my issues. I did have an ABS light come on while the issue was occouring. I have found my 15 amp fuse blown, new fuse blows as soon as power switch turned on. Im guessing alternator overcharging took out my ABS unit. Ive been over all...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yes, its louder. I cant get my sound clip to upload. If you look on the " who has bumped up the power...." thread theres a few cliips of guys with sound. IIRC theres also sound clips on the " weekend project straight pipe" thread. Louder, but im not sure annoyingly loud.

    Newbie Needs Help with Purchase

Welcome, yes a better ,more specific location would help.Around here trucks have been going for $3000 to $8000(which amazed me last week when an M931A2 went for that on GL). Theres a lot of good threads about costs of ownership. I read and studied for almost a year before I bought mine, and im...

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

From what ive read. And I in know way know this to be accurate or fool proof. but the delco alternator has a "load dump" protection circuit.

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

Cables are good. I spent 2 solid days going over every inch of wiring and redoing all the grounds. I scored a test alternator last night. That seems to be the issue. Truck was fine. Im guessing i have just had a rash of bad luck with alternators or i have a PCB box thats intermittently acting...

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

I have used the $9 d.v.o.m. from Harbor Freight as well as the several hundred dollar Fluke meter from work. both read the exact same. I took the batteries to a nationwide known auto parts store to have the load tests done. They used their equipment to determione the batteries were fine. The...

Alternator issue again, advise on upgrades?

Batteries all load tested goor this weekend at Orileys. Having alternator bench tested today. Anyone seen a bad PCB box do this? Thats my only other guess. Ive been over the grounds several times. They are good.
