    Air Compressor / Diesel Engine

Thanks Ike! And thank you very much for helping me get my hands on the operating and repair manuals too! It's a great start.:D I wasn't able to find any information on clocking the injector pump pistles - just how to set the flow rate on the pump with shims. I don't have the SST required to...

    Air Compressor / Diesel Engine

Does anyone know the purpose of this compressor? It seems to have several stages to the compressor that are used to ramp up the PSI to maybe 5,000 PSI? I've been told that these are used to start jet turbine engines on an airfield. I'd like to convert it to just pump as many CFM as possible...

    Air Compressor / Diesel Engine

Here are pics of the bosch injection pump. You can see that the pic I need is of the stopped (neutral position) and the notch visible inside the output valve is what I'm looking for.

    Air Compressor / Diesel Engine

Last Summer I picked up an Air compressor in a local auction (not GL). the injectors were really gummed up with carbon/etc and I had to soak them for weeks before they would flow fuel. Finally put it back together and it fired right up but one cylinder was not firing. I found that I was having...

    12v- 24v question

I have a pierce 10 ton dump kit (NIB). The motor on the pump looks like a starter motor but has no load ratings on it nor in the accompanying documentation for the pump. I imagine that it varies depending on the temperature of the fluid and load on the ram. I don't think this presents a...

    12v- 24v question

I have a hydraulic dump bed kit with a 12v pump and have been wondering how best to run the 12v pump on my deuce as well. I know ideally I should have a 24v pump, but I'd like to use what I have if possible. A separate battery that can be charged off the stock alternator would seem to be an...

    Deuce won't start

My deuce won't start. 69 M35A2 Kaiser with continental multifuel Seems like the starter has gone bad: Batterys tested good using battery tester, terminals are clean, acc switch on (loud buzzer), press red button and no sound of engine turning over or even a clicking noise from the starter...

    Casting Wiper lever

Quite impressive. As Junkyard said, you've made it once you realize you need to make your own parts... and do so! BTW- if you make two extra PM me and I'll send you the mailing address for the "extra vaccum wiper lever disposal depot" <grin>

Re: RE: Mystery bracket I've just been telling people it's the muffler bearing support bracket... :D

    Mystery bracket

Re: RE: Mystery bracket That's what I expected. Wouldn't it obscure the service air line, or does everyone just use a gladhand adapter these days?

    Gear oil leak

Does this look like evidence of a bad axle seal? Both rear axles leak on the passenger side, fluid smells like gear oil. We did notice that all three axles were slightly low, and topped them off to the fill plug. 1. Could they have been overfilled? 2. Are the axles pressurized, and if so...

    Deuce Recovery Gone Good

Can anyone identify this bracket on the passenger firewall just below the service air hookup? Fire Extinguisher maybe?

    What do these numbers mean?

My neighbor is retired military and recognized it as National Guard by the markings. He really enjoyed seeing the two deuces and said it really brings back memories, as have many others. To those who serve you have my deepest respect and appreciation for all that you do. We got a lot of...

    What do these numbers mean?

There are a lot of numbers marked on my new deuce, is there any way to get some history of the vehicle by "decoding" them?

    Deuce Recovery Gone Good

Definitely 9/16" square drive. You can see here that someone has tried to use a 1/2" drive on it by the dimples mid-way across the flats.
