Local off road fun in Salt Lake City area?

I must say that it would be very cool to run into one on the back roads. I used to spend a lot of time off-roading and I have never seen a MV on the back roads. I can't wait to get mine up to spec so I can take it out.:driver:

Local off road fun in Salt Lake City area?

Sorry to revive an old thread but I do have a question. What do you do if you encounter someone going the opposite direction? The trails down here barely have room for one vehicle to pull off to the side letting someone else through. By the way that rig is very cool.[thumbzup]

    Suppressor on bus bar

I do know a guy who is about an hour away who know's a lot about CUCV's. But I did find all of the bad fusible links and fixed them. It now starts and seems to work just fine. I think the last fusible link that went was because I had part of the positive wire touching the alternator. But now...

    Suppressor on bus bar

It was a pain just trying to find someone who would test an isolated ground alternator. No one had ever tested one before. In fact it took a few days just to find one person who would give it a try. I brought some articles and my TM's with me and we had to figure this thing out together. But...

    Suppressor on bus bar

Here is an update - I took the alternators off and had them tested and I also had my original ones tested. One of my original Alt's is good and the new ones tested as good. Since I was working on my truck I thought it would be good to add a new starter relay and I did the doghead mod. When I...

    Suppressor on bus bar

I did look at them and I did not see AC Delco written on the back. I have not pulled them off yet but I will do that after dinner. I did e-mail the seller and this is what he says about it being original - "We have purchased several hundred of these units from our supplier. But these are all...

    Suppressor on bus bar

I am really not sure. It was two weeks ago and I had to carry them on a bike trailer mile along with the batteries since I needed to get them charged at the same time. I new I should have told them that but at this poin I not so sure.

    Suppressor on bus bar

This was a husband of my wife's friend. My wife wanted me to let him look at it and I tried to explain that he would only make things worse but she did not understand. Well she understands now. LOL! I have found any mechanic I do have look at it knows less then I do about the truck and I...

    Suppressor on bus bar

They look very close. The only real difference is that it takes a different mounting bolt at the top of the alternator. All the connections on the back seem to be very close.

    Suppressor on bus bar

I bought them because they are supposed to be OEM CUCV replacement alternators this way I could rebuild the old ones when I had the chance and have a back up. So I do not need that suppressor wire at all? And having hooked up could that have messed something else up? This is what I bought...

    Suppressor on bus bar

Here is a background my problem. Two weeks ago I tried to start my truck and I had no power, did some testing and found that my alternators were out but I also noticed that a wire with what looked like a resistor attached going between the positive and negative bus bar was broken this wire is...

    Detroit locker

I thought the air lockers locked both tires and that they would spin at the same time. Is that something that you can add along with the Detroit locker or can you only have one?

    Detroit locker

I have wanted to ask these questions for a long time and this thread seems a good place. Is the gov lock always on or only in 4wd? Does the 4wd low lock both rear wheels like an electronic locker (had one on my FJ) and if not can I install a no spin eaton locker on the rear differential like...

    metal vacuum pipe replacement

I had a problem with my M1009 not shifting and after replacing all the hoses I did find out that it was the metal vacuum pipe. The TM listed the part number as #15599235 and it seems GM no longer makes this and NAPA does not seem to have it. I also called O'reilly's and they cannot find it...
