Can't get my M1028 to run...

My truck is a 1984 M1028. I'm not sure if the injection pump has ever been rebuilt. I don't see any leaks, but I'm certain that's what's wrong unless someone else with more experience could shed some light on my issues. Here we go. When I picked the truck up all the glow plugs were shot, so I...

    Wiring Problems - M1028

Well the first issue is the (what I believe is a fusible link) in the first picture is fried. I could use a part number or maybe there is another way to "fuse" these two wires together. The second issue is there is a wire with a ring terminal on the end hanging down near the bumper on the...

    Need a part number

Anyone know the part number for this guy? It's supposedly for the diagnostic wire. On the passenger side it's completely ripped off.

    CUCV ground help

I was poking through some stuff the other day and noticed that a ground has been disconnected or looks to be ripped off. Any idea where it is supposed to hook up to? It is grounded to the frame on passenger side.

    M1028 Axle questions

    1. On the Wiki it says only the 1028 require lsd additive. Wouldn't the 1031 also require it? 2. Do both axles get the additive or is it just the front, and how much additive do I need to add? Is it in addition to the existing fluid or is it factored into the amount the axle requires? 3. The...

    CUCV 14 bolt question

I was poking around Wikipedia the other day and I noticed that that the 14 bolt's design was actually changed in 1985. Here's the link: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/10.5%22_Corporate_14_Bolt_Differential (in the design section). Does that mean any CUCV made after 1985 has the new design...

    Buying M1028, 50k or 150k miles?

I am picking up an M1028 down in Georgia in a couple of weeks. The seller claims it has around 50,000 miles but I have my suspicions that it's actually 150,000 miles. Here are some pictures of the truck, let me know what you think. Nick

Biggest tires on an M1028 with stock height

I did the best i could to find an answer on this, but a lot of different numbers were thrown around with no real answer. My goal is to fit the biggest possible tires, on the stock CUCV rims, without lifting the truck, or cutting up the fenders. Let me know... - Nick

    1028 465/205 combo

I'm getting an m1028 in a couple of weeks. Original trans and 208 case. Not a bad combo, but I am possibly thinking of swapping in an sm465 manual and an np 205 transfer case. Any preferences as to which tranny is the better option? What about the 205 case? Am I going to notice the bit higher...

    New from Rochester, NY!

I don't have a CUCV yet  But I want to get an M1028, even though seemingly they are getting fairly scarce. I love that this site is like an encyclopedia for anything CUCV. Looking forward to doing some valuable networking!!! - Nick
