    Thunderbird's M923A2 thread

Congrats of the new truck. I have to deal with engineers every day in the aviation industry so I know where your head is. Forget all that-- these trucks are really tough! Keep in mind that high school kids drove them, worked on them, and tried to tear them up when they were GI's. Check it over...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

How about you or neverenuf posting some pics of each adjustment on the 8.3 so us dummies can follow along. With all the tubes/pipes/linkages it might be useful. I turned up my fuel under the plug on top of the pump and it made a BIG difference. Haven't done the gov yet. According to the tach, it...

    front wheel drive questions

Big thanks to all for the info. I will try all this weekend. Wreckerman, I wondered if it would do that-- my 4WD pickup does exactly that especially at full lock either way. John

M932 Pickup from Indianapolis. Could use advice!

HI Shrapnel, I got 931A2 tractor several months ago in Oklahoma. It had 15 hours and 196 miles showing. I did the walkaround when I picked it up. The gladhand is the air line connections for trailer brake hoses or under the front bumper for connecting the tractor to a towing vehicle. You can...

    front wheel drive questions

I have a M931A2. Couple of questions concerning the front wheel drive system. I have read the ops manual and looked over the TM. When I put the transfer case in low range, I do not get a front drive light indication, or any other lights for that matter. It takes a bit of jockeying around to get...

    8.3 cummins fan clutch

Just found this post so a day late and dollar short-- but, I found on the 8.3 cummins installed in the 931A2 like mine that it takes air pressure to engage the clutch. I know this because I thought maybe mine was bad so I applies shop air( it takes just a little) to the hose from the fan control...

    Rookie ? about future M925 Purchase - TT&L

I just finished with registering mine here in Texas. No problems what so ever. First thing -- make sure you have all the documents from GL if that is where you got it. They sent me the SF97, Government title transfer to GL, a re-assignment of title from GL to me and a notarized bill of sale from...

    WF 32 Right hand drive

Those wheels are called Daytons. Very hard to come by. I have a 46 WF32. Yours looks original. Must have been a special order for Dodge because the emergency brake handle is still on the right side of the trans, just like all the rest of these model dodge trucks.

    Circuit Help Needed...

you only need to connect your indicator lamp to the low beam side-- remember it will be on with the switch in either position. Other than that, looks good-- power it up on the bench before you install it. Hook your lights up and connect it to the battery feed from the truck. NIce work...

    Circuit Help Needed...

http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=70079073 go here-- this is a heavy duty diode that mounts by its base. You can just put a ring terminal on the wire, connect to the base and solder a wire to the other side. Make sure you put it where it cannot ground. These will work...

5 Ton owners in NJ? Conflicting information from DMV on need for CDL

I believe my dash placard states the empty weight of my M931A2 is 20100. It seems our rules in NJ are very similar to mine in Texas

    Circuit Help Needed...

My mistake-- I gave you the amps for I lamp-- you will need a fuse and diode for at least 10-15 amps. SORRY!

    Circuit Help Needed...

AH Grasshopper-- you getting electricity now! Yes, a diode is a one way valve so to speak. It will have an arrow on it to show which way the electrons will flow. Radio Shack will have what you need probably. When you wire your switch up- it will make no difference which way you install the...

    Circuit Help Needed...

Ok, I think I understand what you have now. If you want to control the high and low beams and high requires that both filaments are lit, then do the following if you want to use the blower switch: Put 24 volts to pin A. Put either terminal of the lamp except the middle one to pin B. Put a wire...

    Circuit Help Needed...

I think that one of the terminals on the light is a common ground for both filaments. Otherwise how would the light ground itself? If you use your meter, put one lead in the center pin of the headlight connector and the other lead to ground-- you should have almost zero resistance. If you...

M931A2 turn signal and tail light gremlins

Finally fixed the problem-- when the back of the truck was damaged in the depot and the tail light brackets were bent all to cr*p I removed them to straighten them as much as possible-- because of the wavy flanges, not much contact for ground-- Ran separate ground straps and everything worked as...

start problem on the 8.3 in my 931A2

I didn't know the selector valve had any seals in it-- but that makes sense now. The problem started after I started running on the right tank for the first time since I got the truck. Guess I will pull the valve and reseal it. I thank all of you for your advice. At 60, I feel like I am back in...
