M1082 LMTV trailer from Cincinnati, Ohio area to North Dakota or close.

I would think the 105 bed would be too difficult to load across my bed (too much time and effort using cribbing and straps. That would make me need a trailer - and for this load I think just pulling the LMTV trailer would be easier and just as cost efficient

M1082 LMTV trailer from Cincinnati, Ohio area to North Dakota or close.

I have a new 1 ton, and some free time. What does this pay? I also have a trailer, but it seems towing this would be a lot simpler?

    Tunnel Modification

Having owned and driven 3 HMMWV's, the main difference in the H1 civi truck and the HMMWV is the steering column (borrowed from Ford Motor Co) and the ROPS that was integrated into the roof structure. If you have a typical surplused HMMWV, you have ABSOLUTELY ZERO protection from Falling...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Is there any accepted practice to prolong the life of these boots? I have a 923A2, and wont drive the truck in mud or whatever. I just drive it on pavement and gravel

    fuel filter change

I don't understand this type of post. All it typically does is create doubt, worry, and extra work for someone else. People 'trust' these forums, since usually they know more than the person cruising through here. How do you know how old his injectors are? How do you know how old his truck...

    m998a0 self centering steering?

Both of mine, and every one Ive driven. Its because there is no Ackerman effect in the front suspension/steering geometry. Its set up like a farm tractor...just to steer.

Bye for now to M52/M54, Went to VN Vet

Maybe the MV circle of life will spin around and bless me with a chance at a humvee someday. I also wouldnt mind an old Jeep. I loved, LOVED driving the 5 ton, but dang its rough finding a spot to store them, and heaven help if anything had ever gone wrong. I was so fortunate to have...

Bye for now to M52/M54, Went to VN Vet

Guys Ive enjoyed the site, enjoyed learning about these ol' girls. I went through divorce last year, and had to sell my 5 Ton. Ended up after MANY people "wanting" it, I continued to lower the price, lower and lower and lower.... Finally found a Vietnam Vet that wanted it, and I made him a...

    What to do after flooding?

How is this any different than the many many videos/experiences Ive seen/had where axles on the duece, and other 1/2 tons like your CUCV were submerged while running repeatedly? Honestly I thought nothing would be harmed if the seals were intact. God knows Ive submerged truck and Jeep axles...

Deuce vs. 79,800 lb rig: Fail

Not to change the topic, but can anyone explain why the OP was 'thanked' for a helpful post? What did this post do to get thanked for? I ask because Ive been away from the site for a while, and it seems just looking in to be a slight 'good ol boy' pat on the butt for the secret squirrel...

Deuce vs. 79,800 lb rig: Fail

Thats a lot of ground contact for that much weight. I tell people here all the time, weight suspended above ground, with only tires touching, thats one thing. Distribute that weight along a frame rail, and dig in a couple axle assemblies and things get to the impossible area quick. I...

    M54 top speed

Mine will do 52 up grade, and 54 on flats. Doesnt matter if the canvas is on or off, pulling or unloaded. Thats what you get. Rolling coal the whole time, especially on the grades.
