5 Ton Alternator pulley shaft sheared.

The belt goes around the stationary pulley(with duct tape) backwards, everything else spins in the normal direction.

5 Ton Alternator pulley shaft sheared.

the belt I used is an auto belt 6pk1270 I would say it was 1/2 inch too long. the picture shows the belt and the duct tape around the pulley to tighten belt.

5 Ton Alternator pulley shaft sheared.

I had this happen to me last year, stuck on the side of the road 60 miles from home. I measured(using the existing belt) to reroute the belt without the alt. I installed the temporary short belt to turn the water pump, drove home with no issues. The short belt was a little loose at first, so I...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I found the soft top repair on SS. I used a weather strip adhesive to bond the top back to the plastic channel strip, then pop rivet with a small washer backer every 2 1/2 inches. then a little paint to conceal the rivits (still need to paint the wipers)

    GA. registration by weight

A highway impact fee, although bad in itself on us, would be a fee and not a commercial registration? Commercial registration would greatly impact our insurance and possibly our drivers license class.

fuel shutoff solenoid on the cummins 8.3

I went round and round with this problem, replaced the solenoid no change. Then I replaced bad battery terminals and charged the batteries--problem fixed! Al, if I were you I would go thru the battery system first. Scott

Wrecker front winch cable fiber core ?

If you know an elevator guy, we use various size cable with rope cores. They all the time are replacing cables. I used to trade old cable to a woodpulp guy for ruff cut hardwood.

fuel shutoff solenoid on the cummins 8.3

The shutoff lever on the 8.3 is spring loaded to the open position. The manual shut of cable pulls to shut down. Simply removing the solenoid will let it run,no need for the set up you had to make on yours. Cool idea though! I was looking to get it back to working as it should.

fuel shutoff solenoid on the cummins 8.3

I can hold it in by hand while I start the engine and then it will hold itself in and the truck will stay running as normal. Changing the solenoid is easy...

    803A relays

Yep, that looks right. I just swapped out a 400hz gen for a 60hz. This coming weekend I will be installing the control box you have pictured, I may need to ask "where does this wire go" questions. Good luck with the starting. Scott
