I found it on craigslist, and it's been solid as a rock.... until this weekend during the worst storm iv seen in...

    500 Gallon Tank on a M116

Thank you everyone for the amazing info, it is the stronger 1102 LTT, so that's cool- will check on baffles and DOT requirements although im a black sheep nighttime missions are ok too. So, about mounting this thing? the angle iron's bolted threw the trailer ok? Reason for this is that I own a...

    500 Gallon Tank on a M116

Reaching out for advise on mounting this tank- its 500 gallons so nearly 3.5k pounds of backup fuel. I was thinking welding 8 short pieces of 3x3" angle to each corner then bolding them threw the trailer just like the MEP803A was bolted down? I drive past the plant where these were made every...

    Cut MEP-803a fuel return lines

well I get to replace mine as well- found a leak the very second I was backing the unit into its new shed. Question, looks like a simple barbed nipple- but there is a ton of material stuck to it, is it just old fuel line or is there a O-ring on that nipple?

    MEP 803a Fuel Water/Separator

Hmmm, some of those are pretty impossible to reach unless there is some soft of trick- Maybe stuffing my 3yr old inside the unit?

    MEP 803a Fuel Water/Separator

Got it off- 3 quick questions, the new filter came with a hose washer size rubber washer I did not see one used on the old filter? Can the drain petcock be transferred to the new filter? I took the side panel off as Lightinthedark recommended and that did work quite well, many thanks for that...

    MEP 803a Fuel Water/Separator

    Wet stacking question

Thanks for the response, to address some of the above- the new (used) Honda isn't wet stacked- I just want to avoid it. As for mice we have a custom made mouse proof Kevlar cover (seen to the right 1:15) that covers that top vent and use that ratchet strap to secure it to the wood with zero...

    Wet stacking question

A few years back I won the auction on a sweet 803A only to find it was wet stacked, I saved it with a 2 hour run at 100% with it throwing fireballs, so that was quite the introduction to a problem I had no idea existed. This past year I picked up a Honda EB12D 3600RPM unit with only 16 hours on...

    MEP 803 shelter build.

didn't stink at all, it was removed from that problem area about a year ago and all the paneling didn't allow a view to the top- o'well, runs perfect....just a huge clean up and a few cans of hammerrite

Lets talk and over think Coolant

yes cavitation - I figured our mep's were immune being a battle field built, pretty much iron everything! With all these OAT and HOAT coolants it gets confusing. The one thing the shop owner did say is to never mix the coolants, that's when dex-cool turns to a solid. Standard green with napa...

Lets talk and over think Coolant

I know the sticky daybreak posted says to use standard green coolant- are these iron engines in MEP's immune to the problem modern pickups owners are facing when using standard green? My friends power stroke had a hole eaten threw the block behind the water pump- the diesel shop said it was due...

    MEP 803 shelter build.

I think I will have a 10x15 building built with foundation, run underground conduit with a #6 and also screen off the genset as well. That way I can also store some lawn & garden items inside with it. Im the guy who picked up that used Honda EB12D for my father, I pulled it apart to do a Timing...

    MEP 803 shelter build.

I need to build something like this, how easy is it to screen the ventilation holes to stop mice from chewing the wiring up? I cant decide if I want to build a fully enclosed shelter or just a leaning roof off the side of my house. With the fireballs this thing shoots out when under heavy load...
