Started my brake job on the deuce.

Here's a couple pics of the airpack before I did any cleaning up. As you can see, the dirtiest part is a small section of the piston and seal. I'm sure a lot of the hydraulics are probably good, but since the deuce is new to me, I am going thru the complete hydraulic brake system for "peace of...

Started my brake job on the deuce.

Took the rest of the airpack apart tonight. The valving part, I guess you would call it the regulator part of it. Super clean! no rust or dirt or brake fluid!

Thanks, I got the long airpack. Already been looking online. Is any one vendor's product better quality than the others? Or do all the kits come from the same manufacture?

Started my brake job on the deuce.

Since it's new to me, and I don't have any brakes now. I am going thru the whole brake system. Got the master cylinder and airpack off last week. Finally got around to taking them apart today. The master cylinder is in real good shape. The piston's front rubber seal was dry with a little...

I got my avatar set up. The pic is from my tour in Grafenwohr Germany back in 1981. I'm driving the M578. It was nicknamed "The Tejas Express" because all three of us assigned to it were from Texas. Talk about a workhorse! That VTR did whatever I was able to throw at it. I even drifted it...

Originally it was a gasser, not any more. Has the Hercules multi fuel engine in it now. I was told that the military refurbished it in 1989. It's in really good shape. Little to no rust. Real clean underneath. Straight body. And a hard top!

Picked up two batteries this morning. Cleaned up the battery box and terminals then installed the batteries. Pushed in the engine stop, turned the switch, hit the start button. Fired up before one complete revolution! Drove it around my 5 acres (without brakes). High/low transfer case...

Bought a M35A2 a few days ago. I'm sure I'll be here regularly. I'm new to the hobby, but have knowledge on the vehicle i acquired. I was a mechanic in the Army back in the early 80's. Other than no brakes, dead batteries, and the rubber return fuel line being dry rotted and leaking when...
