    cooling issues

sorry for the delay. ive been out of town. last night I finally had time to take the thermostat out and run it. the thermostat was a bad one out of the box. I do have flow back to the engine now but it is still bubbling. after more research I'm pretty sure it is the HG. This oughtta be fun! I...

    cooling issues

reading back through I forgot an important part. when I started it back up after installing the thermostat it was bubbling instantly as soon as I went from the cab to the engine bay

    GM 10 bolt....

Tore the rear end up on my m1009. I'm not looking to swap axles and keep it cheap. It's going up for sale after this fix. In your opinion what is the better option? Rebuilding what I have or finding a good used one. Trying to keep it as cheap as possible. Also if you have one for sale let me know

    Alternator alignment adjustment

Both alternator pulleys were fine. It was the crankshaft fan and PS that were the culprits. The crankshaft pulley is a pain in the ass to get it cleaned up. I didn't have room to get my die grinder in there so had to use a small wire brush.... Good lesson learned lol. Buy new! Sent from my...

    Alternator alignment adjustment

just browsing through the forums I never updated what happened. I fought belts left and right for month. had pass alt rebuilt due to voltage regulator, then bearings went out on the driver side right after. thought I was going to have it fixed and good to go after that. WRONG! 50 miles after...

Another charging system problem for the page

I have looked through SS and found similar problems and tried to work through it. I havent had the truck long and when I got it home the rear battery was hot and swollen. They guy I bought it from said he had an issue with that style battery before so he got me a new one. Fast forward a couple...

    Alternator alignment adjustment

Sorry I hadn't been on here. Been a long Christmas time. A little update. Was able to get a pulley that sits out a little farther. Lines up great. But it is still squealing terribly loud. All belts are tight, on the right pulleys, and everything spins freely. I'm afraid to say but I'm gonna have...

    Alternator alignment adjustment

I put a new belt on it. I just used that one to get the truck home and bought a new one from Napa. I didn't even realize how out of alignment they were until I started it up and heard the squealing. The Napa belt is a lot more heavy duty than the dayco that I patched it with. I think the Napa...

    Alternator alignment adjustment

Yes 2 alts and the 6.2. when I bought the truck there was a belt sitting in the back. It was pretty sun faded but I was on the way to work so I tried to see if it would fit and it did. I'll take pictures in the light tomorrow. The alt looks like it's a good 1/4 inch to the rear of the truck by...

    Alternator alignment adjustment

A couple weeks ago I threw my driver side alt belt. I had just bought the truck a month ago or so. Checking everything out the belts where on the wrong sheave. Luckily I had a belt in back of the truck when I bought the truck ( unknown age of belt) and it happened to be the right belt. Drove it...

    GEN 1 light

On my way into work today I got my GEN 1 light. I was only 3 miles out or so. I chugged along. Got to work opened my hood and the belt broke. Brand new belt. I'll get a volt meter out here in a little bit. If the alt is bad is there anything I can do in a pinch to get it back home? Sent from my...

    hmmwv takeoffs

After doing some more research and yalls input I think I'm going to go with aftermarket tires. It sounds like its not worth the hassle to run take offs. It already has two brand new BFG A/Ts so I'll just stick with those for now and buy two more. The tires aren't big enough on it for me. But...

    hmmwv takeoffs

Spend the money on some good 35 inch tires that will fit your stock rim and you will probably have a happy family on trips. tires up to 35 inch there is a pretty good selection and prices. when you go bigger than that selection drops and prices jump. 35's are on it now. its got a 6" lift on...

    hmmwv takeoffs

I found a place on here for hmmwv 37" take offs. They are 12.5 wide. I'm putting aftermarket rims on. Reading online I find some people say 10" wide rims and others say 8" wide. Both arguments I found online say they pop off the rim, some say they pop off on 8" and others say pop off on 10"...
