Well, that took an unexpected turn. The help from both sides of this purchase has been great. The forum was quick with replies other than the old "Read the TMs" and the sellers have been out in the cold trying to troubleshoot the problem. A problem that was voluntarily noted during my initial...
He's an acquaintance. He bought the truck from his employer 4 or 5 years ago and it just sits on his property. He doesn't know much about it but I really feel like he isnt out to screw anyone over. He was up front about it having the problem once in the past. The price is great, and honestly...
He did engage the PTO to run the crane and winches, I did not double check that it was disengaged when I took it for a drive. Would it not shift out of first? Thank you for the suggestion!
He mentioned on the phone that he was able to get it to shift into second on his property, but wasnt able to go much faster. He didnt specify what, if anything, he did. He said low did not make any difference. I'm going to run out there tomorrow and check the modulator and clean the governor...
Looking to buy a M936a2. Looked at it last week, got approved for a loan saturday. Went to drive it today and it wont shift out of first. Guy says it did this once prior when the CTIS stopped working and shifted normal with CTIS brain unplugged afterward. I looked through the trouleshooting...
Middle of last year I lost a wheel bearing. Everything worked fine before losing the bearing. I finally got around to fixing the truck and now I have little to no brakes.
On first pump the pedal goes nearly to the floor. You can pump the pedal and build some air pressure but little to no...
Had any luck with this? I keep getting asked if I bobbed mine when people see yours in town. My old man called saying he was waving at one the other day until he realized it was missing an axle! I'm having a similar problem with a set of tires on a pickup, I'm curious to see if you get it...
Not much has changed. I'm working again, but 55+ hours most weeks. The truck has begun losing prime, rather quickly some times. My lift pump is bad, so this equals a lot of cranking some days. I havent had time to troubleshoot it, but i can see air in the Line from the pump to the filter housing...
Thanks for the kind words folks.
I've been watching your crew cab build. I'd like to attempt one someday, they look great.
I really thought I was going to get off easy. And I really just got tired of seeing the red paint. Now red paint shows up almost every time I drive the thing. I will...
I intend to put a bed on it. Cash has been short, and, while useless, it's still fun to drive around. I did ratchet strap some pickup tires to the frame and run them to the tire shop the other day. A bed would have been much better.
Some of the issues that need addressed:
-The driver side window binds up about 3/4 of the way up. It goes up if I wiggle it a bit.
-It needs a bed.
-One headlight is burnt out.
-The brake light switch on the air pack is bad, I keep cleaning it and it'll work for a few days. I'm getting...
I used a cherry picker to pull the inserts out, ended up working out pretty well.
I also used the cherry picker to load a tire in the truck. I found a local place that was willing to touch the stock wheels, but they wanted to see the tire I wanted to put on there. Without any help, you have...
