HMMWV Transmission selector difficult to go from Drive to Neutral

Hi guys, Having a problem where the Transmission selector has been getting harder to move from Drive to Neutral. I've had a look through the TM's and I'm going to start with the selector box, hoping when I take it out and clean everything it'll sort it. Hoping it's a sticky shaft, down from...

Modifying the HMMWV Brake Light unit for separate orange indicators - UK Spec

Hi Guys, To get my HMMWV through the yearly MOT test in England I need to have separate orange indicators, rather than the standard combined brake/indicator unit. I will be moving the cables that go to the standard rear combined lights and connecting them to the newly fitted orange...

    HMMWV Spindle Nut Socket dimensions

Hi Guys, I am going to make a Spindle Nut Socket, as they are hard to get and expensive with shipping ($60), English Taxes (20%) and Royal Mail handling charge ($10). Yes, another Tea Party would be nice  I've got most of the critical dimensions from measuring the Spindle Nuts, but need...

60Amp Alternator Brush Holder Kit - 3 brushes included

Hi Guys, I struggled to get just the brushes for my 60Amp Regulator, but managed to get a kit with brushes, springs, brush holder and spacers. Included in the kit were three brushes. Any ideas why there are three brushes, as only two are used? Many thanks, Sarah

    60A Alternator Brush Holder alignment

Hi Guys, I've finally got some replacement brushes/springs for my 60A Alternator and went about fitting them. Setting belt tension with a Belt Tension Gauge TM 9-2320-280-2

Hi Guys I was reading TM 9-2320-280-2, section 3-82, on adjusting the drivebelts. The text says to use a Belt Tension Gauge, but only gives a deflection force (90 +- 5lbs for a used belt), not any deflection distance. Am I missing something? Be grateful for any help. Regards, Sarah

Would anyone have a link to an older version of the TM 9-2320-280-34, which would still have the 60 ampere alternator repair in it. Many thanks, Sarah

Replacing Voltage Regulator on 60a Alternator

Hi Guys, My next job is to replace the Voltage Regulator on the 60a Alternator on my 6.2l Humvee. I've read how to remove the regulator in the TM 9-2320-280-20-2, Chapter 4-2-1, the chapter does call for the alternator to be removed. Can you actually remove the voltage regulator with the...

    Engine dies whilst driving

Hi Guys, I've had my 1986 M998 HMMWV for two weeks now and whilst driving today the engine died. I still had lights, but the engine would not turn over. I checked the connectors were pushed home in the ignition switch, which they were. I tried to start my HMMWV again and it started and ran...
