Good morning - does anybody have a good source for parts for the M998 exhaust system? I am looking for a crossover section and the associated gaskets. I have a hole the size of a quarter and have seen prices on this part from $199-$450. Thank you in advance.

Hello - I have a 1992 AM General HMMWV and am trying to source out a cover plate for the gear hub on the back right of the vehicle. The top corner is corroded and plan to get in there soon, drain all four, inspect spindle nut, and reseal. Anyone have any ideas on where to get proper cover plates?

Yes you can see the breather line in the pic. The wierd thing is it is too short by about four inches to connect- the clamp is still on the end and everything. It is carefully routed and held in place with about four or five hangers.

I was just looking everything over today and saw oil leaking on the tire of the front right hub. I immediately thought the worst - blown seal or something but it seams this rubber line isn't connected to the hub. Is it a breather? The oil was definitely coming from this area. Any thoughts?

I spent Sunday fixing the nonworking speedometer and learned a couple things. After reading some previous threads, I disconnected the cable and tested it with a drill- pass. Then I tested it hooked up to the gauge- pass. Finally I took the adapter off the transfer case and inspected the gears...

So after going through disconnecting batteries, removing and inspecting kds box, glow plugs, TSU, and ignition switch, I put everything back together and she is working. Voltmeter does pulse for a minute or two like before when I first start. Thanks for the responses. Vehicle is a 1992 M998...

I disconnected batteries, and pulled KDS box. Wiring harness connections look brand new. took a peak in the box, looks new, no evidence of anything fried. took each glow plug out and tested on multimeter- all passed at over 1.5 ohms. next I'm going to reinstall kds box, hook up batteries and...

No the voltmeter did not pulse like it usually does.

I get that, just don't tell her! I like to tinker just as much as anybody else. Any ideas
