    Diesel or Multifuel

Wow. Interesting stuff. Definately not for those with ADD.

    Diesel or Multifuel

Yeah, for old tractor colors isn't it Case=red, IH=yellow? Wait, what tractor was the multi in again? Oliver? Dark green?

    Battery Tenders

Float/maintenance charging is fine, but I do like a proper full charge put on the battery first. Before a maintanance float, check the water, then bulk charge at high amp charge rate. Then switch to low charge to get through most of the acceptance "top off" phase. Do this with a good MANUAL...

    Diesel or Multifuel

Man, I aint readin all that. I got an ISB 5.9L common rail, and it does very well for its size. Unfortunately, like everything else it is quite complex.

    Diesel or Multifuel

Not to derail things, but wasn't the 5.9L Cummins first developed by Case? I'm rather ignorant of the farm tractor world, so I don't know the connection between Case and IH. BTW, I enjoy your posts regarding the MAN/Continental multifuel. Very interesting reading.

    M35a2 vs m35a3

Get a 5 ton, better than both.

Please don't be this guy(pics inside)

Yeah, whatever works. I think the dumpvalve would be in the back of the drivers underwears if he REALLY NEEDED the trailer brakes though.

    GL-1 Gear Oil Alternative

Understood. I guess I speak for those that have to feed a fleet of trucks. Total costs add up quickly, so cheapa is betta.

Please don't be this guy(pics inside)

If that is for real, wouldn't the trailers brakes be caged? No trailer brakes, no parking brakes. WOW.

    GL-1 Gear Oil Alternative

If ya want to keep it simple, 15w40 HD oil for the engine (whatever is cheap, or the coolest lookin bottle), and the afore mentioned NAPA GL-1 for trans, transfer, and all 3 diffs. I don't know about your budget, but as far as I'm concerned the capacities of these trucks are too much for $$...

    GL-1 Gear Oil Alternative

For GL1 (pure mineral oil / no EP additives): NAPA 65-205 for 5 gallon pail, and I think there is another, NAPA 65-201 for 1 gallon jug. Good enough for me, though I wonder who else uses this stuff besides MV owners, and farmers with old tractors. I know, who cares?

slober tube plumbed back into intake?

I second the exhaust leak check. Look at the elbow right behind the turbo. Because of corrosion, they can have pin holes that will fumigate the cab while your engine is running.

    Snow plows

All this is true. I'm still going to do this though. Its too cool not to. Not to mention, when the storm of the century hits up here, he that owns the biggest plow is king. Kinda like in the south after a huge hurricane hits, he that owns the biggest generator is king.

    Snow plows

Not my videos below, but I'm going to do this someday with one of my trucks. I'll go with a 9 foot Western.

    M818 Trailer

I get the sense that the 915, 916, 920.. are better road trucks i.e. more power, auto, and more civilized. M818 is more old school and seems more fit for heavy off road use. I don't own a 900, just have experience with the M818. My 2cents.

    compressor wrench

I really like Comdiver's compressor wrench. It is quite strong, as I have used long breaker pipe and hammers on it, and have not managed to break it. He may still have some.

    M818 Trailer

Johnson bar? Yes it does. I've used it to test the trailer brakes and coupling from time to time. Flip it down all the way and it locks up the trailer brakes. Flip it up and it releases with a loud hiss. Tip: make sure you paint your gladhands so you don't get them mixed up.

    Why so little power?

Normal modern engines have horsepower. The ol' multifuel has mulepower. She will eat almost anything too, kinda like a goat.

another MV threatened by code enforcement

Truth. ...in many parts of the country unfortunately.

another MV threatened by code enforcement

Ida34, we all make dumb mistakes in life, and buying into a HOA was one of ours. Live and learn. Troll1216, Skowhegan is my town now. Carmel is just bein upta camp, so to speak. ;) Daytona Beach Florida sucked not just for the HOAs, but the rediculous city ordinances. Ya can't even have a...
