    Possibly retro-verting M923 from ABS to NON-ABS

ok, I drove back out to the shop and checked some GO/ NOGO situations. and here she goes... at wet tank: Primary closed Secondary open will build air in secondary tank and hold pressure pretty well with parking brake both on and released. Also holds if I engage spring...

    Possibly retro-verting M923 from ABS to NON-ABS

Yeah, I'm familiar with caging them, and know (in theory) that the spring won't come out. But with the "treating it like a gun" analogy....that's what I'm respectful of. LOL I might not have the prettiest face, but I'd like to keep it where it is.

    Possibly retro-verting M923 from ABS to NON-ABS

I didn't change the spring side diaphrams, just the service side. I know what those springs can do....and I got skeered..LOL.

    Possibly retro-verting M923 from ABS to NON-ABS

Thanks Simp, Secondary does hold air with the parking brake on, the primary leaks out of the check valve on the intermediate axle (the one I was told to replace). I haven't checked whether or not it holds with the parking brake released, but will try that for sure. As far as the compressor...

    Possibly retro-verting M923 from ABS to NON-ABS

I know that this might seem off, and I'll probably get an earful from some. (Getting chewed out is ok, I've been chewed out before). This might be a bit long, so I apologize for that. I just want to give all info and variables in case anyone is inclined to help. The problem: We had a problem...

    Storm's a-comin'

good to hear. We moved close to 60 trees from 2300 hours until 0500 with two trucks...alot of power outages...we were rockin and rollin for a bit.

    Storm's a-comin'

We weathered it pretty well. While I was in the Corps, we always removed ALL of them before a storm. That being said, They will last through quite a bit as long as they are secured well. If they aren't flapping in the wind they will hold up. Our local Fire department has two LMTVs with...

    Storm's a-comin'

Yeah, I hear ya. I worked a 19 hour shift through that last night. Driving one of our m923s for 10 straight hours. Dragging trees out of the roads...good times.

Hey MotoTech, I know that this is an old thread, but I'm looking for a power cable just as you described...would you be willing to share where you sourced it from?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I appreciate that! They did quite well during Hurricane Dorian. We hauled some people, and dragged a bunch of trees out of the roads..

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Thanks! They've been a ton of work, but definitely worth it now.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

This is what we ended up with, FINALLY!!! Just in time for Hurricane Dorian. I think they both came out looking great. Let me know what you think.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Hey everybody, I haven't posted in quite a while. I've been working 80+ hours a week getting our trucks up to snuff for hurricane season, and just barely made it for Hurricane Dorian. We did get to deploy them during the storm and they worked fantastically! There are a couple of videos on the...

    Trying to find headsets.

My department now has an m1236 MRAP made in South Africa. Its got six crew stations (c-12357/vrc) and I'm trying to locate headsets that are compatible, and the necessary bailout cables. Its also got the control station and one loud speaker. They are all wired into the truck. The only thing I...

    RG31 A2 windshield repair

Just a follow up. Took them out (not that big of a deal, they are in frames). The failed layer was on the inside 1st layer. It took a little time but it peeled right off and cleaned up nicely. The only down side is that each window weighed over 100 lbs, not easy to manipulate without dropping...

    Just a bit excited

Hey, welcome to the site. These folks are great. I dealt with these trucks while in the Corps as well. I was a 3521 and spent more time under them than driving them, short of the LVS they are my favorite trucks. I am now responsible for working on two of these beauties at work, having them ready...
