Ok, I have traced my 12v draw is on the 10ga red wire feeding the ignition switch. I disassembled the horn contact (button) and the draw dropped from 9.5 amps to 2 5. I have replaced the ign. switch and the switch on the left side of the column. I have not replaced the wiper switch or...
I don't think it is the battery, I waited till the batt was down to pulling only about 2amps. Had 2 at batt, 9.5 at the 12v buss feed and 11.5 out of the alt. Seems everything is working/adding up right just wondering what's pulling amps inthe cab. Maybe it will be warm enough tomorrow to start...
I am sorting through many electrical issues and am just looking for what "normal" conditions are. If 9'ish amps is too high when running then I got some searching/troubleshooting to do. It is zero with ignition off.
I was wondering if anybody knew what kind of amp draw the 12v buss would have keyon running with no lights, fan or wipers on (only always on essentials)? Does 9-10 amps sound too much? Sorry, it's a M1008 (no radios).
Well the TM's are pretty clear about it but in the "real world" many/most suppliers don't seem to make a distinction about the two. I was just thinking [oh no!] that the booster is not really "The Brakes" it only makes it so you don't have to push the pedal as hard [for those of us that remember...
I have searched to no avail so here goes, the 317 is listed for [only] the M1009 [K5] and the 209 is listed for all others [K30, M1008 in my case]. all of the sellers I have located seen to used these P/M's as interchangeable and or list only one for both. It also appears that at some point...
OK, attempting to restore my original alternators. PO hacked the crap out of them and who knows if they even worked when I got the truck. I ordered rebuild kits but they do not include every thing i need. I have found and ordered the proper Batt terminal kit [1987808] but am having no luck...
That's the one I'm talking about. Was just hoping I could just replace the individual terminals that the wire is crimped to. I will be stripping off the electrical tape to expose the wires this evening in I'll see if I have an extractor to remove the terminal so I can post a picture of it.
Thanks, if I can't find new terminals I can splice new wire in with butt connectors. Was hoping the individual metal connectors (that the controller board plugs into) are available (new).
Hi all, I have to replace the wires going from the temp sensor to the GP card connector [yellow & black] and have had no luck finding any info on new parts IE the individual connectors the wires are crimped to. I scanned the 20p & 34p using several search words and came up empty. Have not given...
I'll get a few this week and post them. I have so many things to do on it. It is so new to me I got it stuck in the back yard and was struggling to get to to move when suddenly I realized I bought a 4X4 ha ha ha LOL!!! 4X4 works...
I figured the size was "overkill" but I have an extra new one and the cost difference is negligible and I plan to use that relay in my camper in a couple places so I will have better interchangeability.
I still have the GM starter relay installed [under dash]. I have read about the "Doghead Mod" and was wondering if the same [upgraded NAPA] relay used for the glow plugs could be used for the under dash starter relay instead of the one Doghead uses???
I have read several posts indicating that the amp draw on the AC plugs is between 12-15 each with initial "rush-in" amps up to 22 momentary(12 voltz). Multiply that times 8 and... The current wiring looks like it has been warm more than a few times so I am retiring on the side of more capacity...
