Optical illusion.
I pulled the pins for the pedals and turned them around so they are always UP now. Suppose you want the pedals to move huh.

Back onto brake shoe adjustment after some fine tuning tonight and a little bit of trying to get Turn signals - park lamps to the front end - this is yet to be resolved of what I chose - either way it all works out in the end.

Back onto electrical tomorrow after adjusting the shoes is finished cause its FRIDAY and I can always sleep in Sat am - means a lot to me. From there we'll see how this weekend pans out of what I can get done.

Anyone got a feeling we're getting CLOSER to the end of mechanical stuff - but there is still stuff I want to fix body wise to suite me to present back to the owner ------ hang on cause the pics of anything will broadcast this cause I hide nothing good or bad.

I found some stuff on the elusive BC-325 today. It's 3.5 ft wide, 2 ft thick (front to back), and six feet high, with a weight of 900 pounds! Operates on the 1.5 to 18 MHz band, 400 watts CW, 150 watts voice, range 1000 miles. Replaced by the SCR-299 transceiver BC-610, which had similar characteristics except for the size and weight - less than four feet high, and 'only' 390 pounds.

Was only able to get a little bit done last night before the monsoon rolled in again for another night.

Brake adj to get done yet and lower it. Then get back onto that wiring-testind and lastly tad bits of body work that's bugging me the more i keep looking at it.

Brakes are adjusted before lowering it back to the ground.
The bullet BO light was the only survivor and it was already broken off - BUT - with the addition of a turn signal switch it called for Turn/Park lamps - I hunted all over for bullet ones but they were only forward facing lenses and nothing rearward which is not really safe in the civy world - probably ok in Military use where everyone travels in a convoy anyhow. SO I made a decision without the permission of the owner to purchase these lamps - got them wholesale and the actual light itself dates back in production to late 1939. Everyone knows them on Big Trucks as chicken lights as a thought in mind - but it was not their original intent. The chrome will go away and get into OD - if he does not like them I will just refund and keep them myself - replaced by what I do not know. SO just make a personal judgement and imagine them in OD which will make them appear smaller anyhow (6v lamps 1154 bulbs fit the same socket as the 1157).

Started back on the passenger side engine wiring for a short time only so not much got done in the high humidity and there is absolutely no air flow at the garage.

OH yeah - those little Spikes on the front of the lower seat cushions - those babies are there to make you BLEED big time - no one every thought GMC would make spike for the now Gothic Zombie folks way back in the 40's.20150820_062728.jpg20150820_151835.jpg20150820_151840.jpg20150820_153221.jpg20150820_164915.jpg20150821_153414.jpg20150821_155934_HDR.jpg20150821_164033.jpg

Those look like the lollipop lights you find on some wreckers. I have a set that were faded -so I replaced them with the same ones you show in the picture. So we can say they are Military use lights.

Your progress look awesome so far. Been checking your thread multiple times daily for cool updates. signed, a fan.

This evenings update.
Here are those lamps painted OD (yes Chaplin the surface before painting was handled PROFESSIONALLY). Optical illusion they look smaller cause their the same size but just not chrome anymore. Headed tomorrow morning to get 1154 bulbs for front and rear cause it LIGHT TEST DAY tomorrow.

All the wiring under the dash it honkered down - instrument panel back in which was all up side down working - went and picked up a furniture pad just to be able to lay in the floor of it and be somewhat comfortable to work.20150822_092345.jpg20150822_092352.jpg20150822_095939.jpg20150822_105452.jpg20150822_114008.jpg20150822_124053.jpg20150822_125851.jpg20150822_125902.jpg

AHHHHHHH suppose I should - but - see how PB wants it I guess and that is the way it will be - never touched them cause it kind of breaks up the asthetics of it all in the cab ??????/ Then I would have to paint all the knobs - switches and anything else that protrudes from the dash - LIKE PB when he slams on his brakes and is stuck to the dash and windshield. Paint him OD to match.

Let's not sweat the small chit for now Brother. I'm just eternally greatful for all the hard work and excellent craftsmanship you have put into this truck.:not worthy:

I'll take care of all the "nit picking" stuff at some point...or not.:papabear:

She certainly has "dolled up" nice since ya met her PB. Must be her "reform" instructor, Commander Warp. Ya can make a silk purse from a sows ear if ya got the right person doing the construction!

As you can see it was just another morning of rain - so I tinkered with the exhaust header pipe to at least keep the fire and flames off the side of the engine and frame. Still ran out in the rain to keep taking measurements and fitment - then when it finally quite I put it on.
Played with all the original Cats Eyes Glass Lense marker lights - front two are operational the rear two will get wired in with the tail lights if I ever just stop screwing off.
Found the pieces for the head light switch after dumping some boxes on the floor and listening to Classic Rock cranked up high - Beer - looking for stuff - Rock and Roll ---------PRICELESS MOMENTS.

I'm probably closer than what I really think I am cause I just keep tossing stuff around and getting off track - like clutch and brake return springs ???? who needs em. Like TWM pointed out the piece I found and installed should be horizontal and not vertical - but it fit right there till I can get back to it (another rainy day most likely).

When all done I still have the body work to pick at and get that flooring sections all fit out once and for all - but not until the other stuff is done - when you see the flooring going in PB will be headed NorthBound to pick it up.20150823_080010.jpg20150823_090440.jpg20150823_090505.jpg20150823_110456.jpg20150823_113825_HDR.jpg20150823_122433.jpg20150823_134335.jpg20150823_140919.jpg
