Many folks ask me at the GA Rally about the parade this year and it's ambush time...I need to know who wants to bring a vehicle and/or who I can count on to drive a CAMO vehicle.

The parade is Saturday, 8 November.

I'm sorry for the late notification but I'll stick by the Light Fighter Motto, "When the going gets tough, the tough kicks ass"!!
If you want to bring you own vehicle, let me know by the 20th of October and if you commit I expect you to perform.

I'll post a list of available CAMO vehicles that need to be driven before the 20th.

I'm sorry for the late notice but true Patriots know how it is and will adapt and will be much appreciated.

Add Russ, Scott and myself to the driver's list as discussed at the SSGR14. I'd like to drive a Jeep so that Lee and the boys could ride with me if possible but then again, we can all fit across the seat of a Deuce sized cab as well. Just post the SP time and we'll get there an hour early to PMCS trucks and make sure we're ready to roll.

Who puts the parade on? The city? Chamber of commerce or is this your baby? Is there a cost to enter?

Actually a small group of Veterans and prior service folks got together and formed a committee to "shame" the city into having a Veterans Parade about 5 or 6 years ago.

Now the City Parks and Rec Department has taken the ball and runs the event quite well so all I have to do now is provide MVs and drivers. There is no cost to participate but all the MVs have to be listed on the CAMO application or an individual can submit their own but will probably be placed somewhere else in the parade lineup.

Also note that insurance is an individual responsibility. The "City" does not cover our vehicles. The move from the CAMO Compound is less than a mile and I arrange Motorcycle Police Escort to and from the Parade as well as self recovery assets so that's not a big issue.

I will need to turn the final list of MVs in on Thursday, 23 Oct 2014 so if anyone wants to bring their own vehicle I need to know before the 22nd.

I'll try to post a list of CAMO vehicles that need drivers sometime tomorrow.

****Sure would be nice to have a WC-51 with 37MM Cannon**** Hint hint...wink wink!!

OK y'all here's the first workup of CAMO vehicles and assigned drivers that have already committed. If you can't participate for some reason please let me know ASAP, also if you are not comfortable driving the assigned vehicle give me a holler by PM and I'll see what I can do.

If you can drive one of the "open" vehicles and are sure you can be here on the 8th please post here so I can add you to the Battle Roster.

Seeing as you have me listed as #9 - I guess I better get the lead outta my arse and the M909 pre-tripped out to make the trip plus robbing a drug dealer to get $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for fuel to make the trip down and back.
Otherwise I will coordinate and make plans to make the trip with Zout2 in the shotgun seat.

Hopefully I can get fuel $ cha ching to make the trip back otherwise your stuck with my sorry arse at Columbus sweeping the floors or moving rocks in your parking lot so they are color coordinated. But EH I could build that water pond for MB while I am laid over for a tad bit bugging the living chit outa you and Carl.

What was more funny was last year getting to the main drive though area - fella comes up to the truck and asks WTH IS A M909 = WE HAVE NO INFO ON IT - Deb says its here and take our word for it - its a M909 in real life. He went away scratching his head back to his computer looking up chit.

PB, please assign godawgsdv8 a seat. He was the tall guy that has been to the last few GA Rally's with us. He can be a driver or a TC for the event. I see I get Gun Truck duty again which is just fine!! I do love those things and one day I'll have one myself. I'll always carry the history of those Gun Trucks and I'm Honored to say that I've met some of the actual original "Gun Trucker's". I do hate to confirm that the "white stripe" on the bottom passenger corner of "Proud American's" bumper will always have that stripe as it was "Grandfathered" in by Mr. Calvin Bennett. I almost scraped my fingernail down trying to remove it. Just like this upcoming event, none of this would have been possible without you and your interest and helping celebrate and show the public the sacrifices made by some America's Greatest People. I am Honored when I get to drive through the streets or such a Patriotic Crowd and Lee, the boy's and I will make "Ugly Ranger" proud this year!!!

OK, here are the specifics for your planning purposes:

Report to the CAMO Compound, 318 10th Avenue Columbus, Georgia 31903 not later than 07:30hrs on 8 November. Uniform is optional but I reserve the right to disallow any clothing I feel is inappropriate.

The WC-22 or the M37 will carry the "Rosey the Riveters" if any of them can make it and at least two of the cargo deuces will carry the "Blind Veterans Association" folks and "VFW Post 665" folks. There may be other groups as well.
The drivers of these vehicles will need to assist in the loading/unloading of these passengers and will need to be especially attentive as they are all "senior folks".

CAMO will provide coffee and donuts before the Parade and will char some form of mammal flesh with all the fixins after the parade. It is usually a good spread.

There are still TWO open vehicles that need drivers. See post # 10.
