Shopping for new tires. Pretty significant price difference between 37’s and 35’s. Anyone running 35x12.50’s on their HMMWV? Pics? I have a set of 18” rims they’ll be going on.

I don't think I've heard of anyone using smaller tires. Usually it's people asking how big they can go.

Yokohama has decent prices on 37x12.5-17 tires. I'm not a HMMWV guy but where did the 18" rim size come from? It seems like you're shooting yourself in the foot with an odd ball wheel. I believe I paid $1700 for 5 tires in 37 on 17 inch rims.

18s arent too oddball. They come on most newer Ford and GM pickups. Tires are cheap. My 1 ton runs a mud terrain 35x12.50R18s that were only $250 each

35s on the HMMWV will slow down your highway speed by like 4mph. Not desirable in my opinion.

I'm lucky to do 70 in mines with the 4 speed, although I have a big blocky top on the back that increases drag by quite a bit. I'm thinking about going with 40s next to increase the top speed a little. I already have a 2 inch suspension lift in the corner that's waiting to be installed

They’re off a Ram 2500. 18” isn’t oddball for 35” tires, but apparently is for 37” tires

Yes 37s aren't common for 18s. They become a flotation tire in 37s with 18in wheels and become 8 ply too.

Least with 35s you can get 12plys.

The wheels off a Ram will not have the correct offset, you pretty much must stick with HMMWV wheels or aftermarket wheels with the correct HMMWV offset, why there are so few viable choices.

Taller tires will not give you a higher top speed if drag is limiting you, in fact it will likely go slower as the lack of power is multiplied

You could really save some money if you go down to 31s, which shouldn't look much more out of place than 35s.

Go cart tires. Top end might be affected but man will he be quick off the line!

I suggest not doing things that are off the reservation. Stick with 16.5 by 37 or purchase H2 rims, have the centers expanded, and purchase less expensive tires that way. A set of H2 rims should not cost more than $600
