auto hauling military trailer

My Comanche is too long for the deuce bed, the rear wheel would be on the tailgate. I was tossing around the idea of "extend-a-bed" - making a support for the tailgate when its down so the bed was a little longer.

I just have too much time to wait for my EUC to clear - AAAARRRGH! aua

Why not? I was thinking about adding an I beam under it and maybe some heavy duty sections of angle iron "L" shaped on top that attach to the outside rails. It would see maybe 4,000lbs momentarily when the truck goes over it and maybe 1,000lbs when the truck is in place.

Then again it would all be easier if I got a trailer to put this truck on.
