I took radiator cap off this evening and think i found out why it wasn't sealing.
There is a decent amount of hard water deposits, a layer, that was on the neck rim, inside the neck and on the cap itself.
I soaked the cap in vinegar and that solved that issue.

Took a brass brush and removed the scale on the neck rim.
Should seal now.
Flushed radiator and it was rather nasty.
I added one gallon of 30% vinegar to the radiator and filled the rest with regular water.
I know I should be using distilled water and will do so once it's drained and ready for refill.

I did not start the engine and let the vinegar run through the water pump and engine.
Didn't know if it would cause any issues.

Fuel Filters changed.
AUX fuel pump installed. Verified that it works.
Tank Cover reinstalled. That was no fun.
All stainless hardware used.
Replacement oil fill cap installed. Old one has a chunk of the underside missing.

One comment on solar chargers: you might want to consider two 12V wired individually across one battery as that is better at keeping each battery balanced. (Not perfect, and not a huge deal)

All the best,

2Pbfeet
Thought about that and did that with my 5 tons.
I was thinking about using a 12w panel for both battery's or I could use two 5w ones (which I already have).
The wiring is a challenge to make look good with two solar chargers.

Where this thing will be sitting, I have access to grid power. I might just keep a NOCO battery charger connected.
That way, when power goes out, the battery's will be good.

I know the vast majority of generator ( and other items ) owners with dual batteries usually go with the built in Noco Genius 2X series chargers. Hardwired, permanent install, wired direct to the battery terminals, just plug it in and walk away.

I have NOCO chargers (5amp) on several vehicles that I don't drive often.
NOCO 2 amp on the lawn mowers.
Also have the NOCO 2X 5 amp hard wired on my CUCV.
Works very well

Spent the morning flushing out the cooling system.
The vinegar worked like a champ cleaning the hard water deposits out of radiator.
Finally got all the crud and vinegar flushed out.
She's now has fresh 50/50 antifreeze.
Radiator cap hasn't leaked since cleaning the hard water deposits off.

Washed down generator and she looks better.
Will do more inside the panels this evening.

New Gates fan belts arrived so I will be using one and replacing the , who knows how old, Dayton belt that is on the machine now.

New belt installed and a spare.
The Dayton belt that was on it was just fine.
Will also be a spare.
This machine was well cared for.

24v Carter fuel pump.
I know it requires some 5/16 JIC fittings to work like original.

Will be setting it inside my gooseneck enclosed cargo trailer for now until I decide where exactly this thing will go.

Except for battery terminal covers, I’m pretty much done with this for now.
