Time to just wait Jerry. Once Battle Creek clears you, GL will invoice you and send an email. I check the EUC status daily just for the heck of it. Once invoiced, you can pick them up. Squeaky might have a car trailer of perhaps you can borrow 2 towbars from Gimp or one from him and one from JWC. Like wartime, hurry up and wait!

My EUC is approved, and I'm picking up Friday morning. I just talked to Joe today, who's the GL rep for Lansing, MI sales where my stuff is... (he called me!!) Borrowing a 2 car gooseneck from work for the trucks, and just quickly stashing the trailer at my GF's house nearby.

Interesting catch is that according to the description, I bid on two 1008's, but I was hoping that the pics of the 1009 meant it was a typo... Turns out it wasn't, and I'm getting two 1008's. Seems the fella that thought he was getting the 1008 that I was hoping was a 1009 is now lined up for the 1009, and NOT happy about it!

While I'm there, I thought I'd check to see what the blazer looks like compared to my sight-unseen 1008. Might call GL to see if I can get his info and arrange a swap to make us both happy...

I'll try to post some pics. Joe in Lansing has been nothing but helpful so far!!
And all the Lansing trucks are rumored to have come from Grayling... They look like runners, but the "no keys" means I'll have to wait to see...

Hey, here it is, traced it down by the odo... My truck-instead-of-blazer:

Lemme know how it turns out man. Been surprised how some of them at least look solid. The word I had was the Alpena and Grayling CUCV's were run to death. None of yours look that way.

I have a friend at a local GM dealership with the ability to make keys. Recovry4x4 sent me the code, my friend was hoarding a quantity of blanks. Now we are stocked up with keys. If I end up having to drive one of them back, I will take fresh fuel and batteries. It might be helpful to have the cell # of a couple of wizards who might be able to help me troubleshoot in case of a do not start situation with both of the vehicles. Surely ONE will start, drive and run (famous last words of an overly optomistic fool).

I'm no wizard but I think you have my number. Might be worth it to get ccatlets number too. I've also got numbers for mangus who claims to have an M1009.

CCATLETT has already been in touch. Between him, you, and Mike, there should be no problems. I think the best approach is to get Squeeky's trailer for one and let Mike flat tow the other. Better safe than sorry. If I attempt to drive one back, I might regret the decision. Then again, I am really anxious to drive one. Perhaps somebody will be picking something else up @ Drexel and give me some clues to the driveability of both.

RE: YES!...

Scratch my last post, didn't look at the date. Some rough looking trucks but most ran.

1stDeuce, don't want to get your hopes up to high, maybe just a liitle, but I was there two weeks ago and I believe Joe started that one. In any case, the driveshaft will most likely be bent so it shouldn't be driven. Go to any GM dealer with the key code and they'll cut one for about $4. Oh, and by the way, make everyone happy, post some photos.
nopics

For sure

My second, third, and fourth green, but I still only have one deuce...

I was watching Lansing, MI action today and stuff went CHEAP! I didn't think I'd get any of this, but it looks like I did... Hopefully the trucks are in decent condition... The trailer (M101A1) needs a landing foot for the tongue.

ALCON, just got off the horn with JW. He has left Drexel Gardens with his 2 prized M1009s. One being towed by our buddy Mike and the other one with JW at the wheel. He's telling me he has a "mirror to mirror smile." As I expected, at least one would need nothing and that was the case. The cheaper one lit right up. Only thing he had to do was bring a key. They are holed up at Union Jacks having a pizza right now. As soon as I get a pic of the new MV daddy, I'll post it up. Congrats Jerry on your new babies.
