While I concur that RP IS expensive, it can be left in twice as long as dino oil. I have a tendency to change my oil once a year in both our vehicles, as neither of them log 10,000 miles a year. So, just to be safe I change the oil before we take any long road trips. OR if the oil starts to look funky.
But I SWEAR by the Royal Purple oil and the ProLong additive. With this combo, neither of us has been left stranded on the side of the road. That sound is me knocking on wood.
