Thanks, who ever rebuilt the engine last time put the pump in so the timing goes off the # 4 plug instead of the # 1 and I am thinking about redoing it correct. Any hints or tips?
Yes with the distributor pulled and engine at tdc #1 fire position, use a flashlight to look down the bore at the slot on the oil pump, repeated stab it until you get it where is needs to be for the rotor to point at #1 tower.
